GATE LATCH ASSEMBLY
20180371801 · 2018-12-27 ·

A gate latch assembly including an actuating member, a moveable rod, and a strike plate. The actuating member transfers movement of a first handle to a second handle. The actuating member includes a cam surface which interacts with the moveable rod to transition the gate latch assembly from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. A biasing element biases the actuating member.

REMOVABLE COVER FOR HATCH

Removable covers and methods for covering emergency exit hatches are provided. An exemplary method includes removing the emergency exit enclosure from a hatch in a wall; pushing a removable cover from an interior of the wall into the hatch; and securing the removable cover in the hatch from the interior of the wall.

Energy-generating window and door latch assemblies and alarm system powered thereby

An alarm system includes a latch assembly having a movable element mounted on one of an entry and a structural element, and a fixed element mounted on the other of the entry and the structural element, wherein the movable element is movable between an engaged position with the fixed element and a disengaged position from the fixed element. A magnet is provided in one of the movable element and the fixed element, and a coil is provided in the other of the moveable element and the fixed element. The magnet and the coil are positioned relative to each other so that an electric current is induced in the coil by the magnet when the movable element is moved between the engaged position and the disengaged position. An energy harvesting circuit connected to the coil converts the induced electric current into a supply voltage that powers the alarm system.

INTEGRATED LOCKING PIN

A gate fastener is provided for securing a double gate, comprising a pivotable body that is fixable to a first gate, wherein the pivotable body comprises at least one recess for receiving a gate rail on the second gate; wherein the pivotable body comprises at least one aperture on a side thereof that is capable of retaining a locking pin; and wherein in a first position, the locking pin spans the recess and prevents movement of the gate rail out of the recess, and wherein in a second position, the locking pin is retracted from the recess such that a portion thereof is retained within the pivotable body without preventing movement of the gate rail out of the recess. Also provided is a gate having said fastener and a method of securing a double gate using the fastener.

DOUBLE DOOR LATCH AND LOCK ASSEMBLY
20180347243 · 2018-12-06 ·

A latch and lock assembly for a double door arrangement having a first door and a second door, in use, being pivotally mounted for movement about either a common pivot axis or closely adjacent parallel pivot axis to a door frame. The latch and lock assembly include: a releasably latching mechanism operatively adapted to releasably latch at least one of the first and second doors to the door frame; a releasable connection mechanism operatively adapted to releasably connect the first door to the second door; and an operating system operatively adapted to control both the latching mechanism and the connection mechanism. The operating system includes an electrical drive operable by an electric power source to drive an actuator that operates the releasable latching mechanism, the releasable connection mechanism, or both.

Swing bolt lock mechanism for preventing premature status switch enabling
10145156 · 2018-12-04 · ·

A swing bolt lock mechanism for preventing false status switch enabling is described. The lock mechanism is a swing bolt lock mechanism wherein the swing bolt has an inner ramp wall against which a blocker rod is spring-biased. A ramp extension arm is displaceably secured with the swing bolt and provides an extension of the ramp wall whereby the blocker rod may only be displaced when the swing bolt is at its fully locked position whereby to arrest the swing bolt at that position. The displacement of the blocker rod also toggles a lock status switch to provide an indication that the lock is at its locked position. Accordingly, the lock status switch cannot be prematurely actuated.

Compression latch

A compression latch assembly for latching a panel to a frame includes a housing assembly, a lockplug assembly, a handle actuator assembly, and a rotating pawl assembly. The housing assembly defines an exterior well and a first and second compartment. The lockplug assembly resides within the first compartment and includes a lockplug having a circumferential guide surface. The handle actuator assembly has a handle within the exterior well, a crank coupled to the handle, and a drive shaft coupled to the crank. The handle and the crank rotate about common pivot point within the second compartment. The handle is selectively captured and ejected by interaction between the circumferential guide surface and a locking pin on the handle. The rotating pawl assembly has a hook defining a slot that receives the drive shaft. Pivotal movement of the handle actuates the hook by movement of the drive shaft within the slot.

AUTOMATIC HATCH FOR BULK MATERIAL VEHICLES
20180313131 · 2018-11-01 ·

An automatic hatch assembly for bulk material containers, and especially for bulk material containers on vehicles, provides for the remote control and automated operation of opening/closing, locking/unlocking, and/or sealing/unsealing hatch functions. The hatch covers a fill opening of the container, and may be retrofitted to existing containers equipped with conventional hatch covers. A drive unit is operable to open and close the hatch cover, and a locking assembly actuates extendable lock members. Optionally, a pneumatic seal is provided within the cover for sealing the container from the outside environment. The locking assembly may be particularly well-suited to resisting opening forces applied to the cover, such as when the container is pressurized, and a sequencing controller may be provided to facilitate automated operation.
