Covering device

A covering device for a storage compartment of a vehicle includes a cover that is slidably mounted for movement between a closed position and an open position. An actuating element is arranged on the cover for manually actuating the cover to be moved along a movement direction between the closed position and the open position. In the closed position a latching part of the cover engages a projection to lock the cover in the closed position. A spring bias is provided to bias the latching part of the cover into engagement with the projection when the cover is in the closed position. The latching part and the projection are engaged in such a way that a locking action of the latching part on the projection is released by manual actuation of the actuating element in the movement direction.

Modular multi-point lock

An electronic remote lock actuator includes a face plate defining a longitudinal axis. A housing disposed adjacent to the face plate. A motor disposed in the housing, and a first drive bar configured to be linearly moveable along the longitudinal axis by the motor. The first drive bar includes a first end and an opposite second end. The first end is configured to be secured to a second drive bar of a mechanical remote lock assembly such that linear movement of the first drive bar is translated to linear movement of the second drive bar along the longitudinal axis.

A latch mechanism having a latch apparatus that is pivotally displaced about a latch axis and a cam device is that pivotally displaced along a transverse cam axis. The cam device is configured to operably engage the latch apparatus so as to at least assist in securing the latch apparatus in a locked position. When the latch apparatus is to be displaced to an unlocked position, the cam device may be pivoted about the transverse cam axis to a position in which, the cam device does not impede with the pivotal displacement of the latch apparatus. The latch apparatus may also be configured to prevent the pivotal displacement of the cam device when the latch apparatus is in the unlocked position. According to other embodiments, the latch apparatus may be pivotally displaced about a transverse latch axis by the displacement of a latch link.
