Centrally controlled safe management system

A cash management system utilizes a cloud computing model wherein a cloud of one or more servers may be locally networked or may be geographically dispersed and accessed by the client device over the Internet. The client device is a cash management safe. More than one safe may be employed in a system. Metrics, control functions, and interactions normally handled by an autonomous safe are shunted directly to a cloud server on the network. Usage data, currency validations, coin validations, security entries, etc. are communicated to the cloud server. The cloud server(s), based on database information and software settings, can transmit configuration, updates and information to remote safes. The information transmitted may include user configuration, access rules, currency configuration, alert configuration, and software and firmware updates. The cloud server based cash management system allows the entire cash management of an enterprise to be provided as a service to that enterprise.

New techniques for safeguarding valuables in a recreational, public setting are provided. In some aspects of the invention, a specialized portable safe is configured for insertion and securing into sand or other loose ground particles, with computer hardware controlling wireless locking, unlocking and alerting techniques. The alerting techniques may include local communications directed to a computer system within the safe's lockable compartment, enabling the extension of range and exporting signals with enhanced security through a smart device held within the safe. In other aspects, segregated scrap memory is provided, featuring data off-boarding from a main computer system and redundant control of user interface controls.

This document describes a system and method for detecting and reporting the presence of contents within a laboratory specimen lockbox. The detection of environmental conditions (temperature, moisture/humidity or location, for example) is further disclosed. The information obtained by the sensors can be used to provide timely courier service to lockboxes containing specimens (particularly where environmental conditions threaten specimen viability) and can be used to avoid sending couriers to empty lockboxes.

A case is mounted to a structure of a canopy or tent. The canopy functions as a campsite shelter. The case provides a lamp and a portal providing access to an interior space within the case where valuables may be safely stored. The apparatus may be secured to ceiling trusses of the canopy. An electrical circuit is engaged within the case and may include a battery providing power to the lamp. A remote control circuit functions to control the lamp. The battery may be charged by a solar cell. An audible alarm may be controlled by a motion sensor or by a case attitude detector remotely controlled.

Smart locker

An example portable container is described. The example portable container includes a body, a handle, a pair of wheels, a wheel lock, and an authenticator. The body includes walls that form an inner chamber configured and dimensioned to receive one or more items. The handle is mounted to the body, and the pair of wheels is mounted to the body. The wheel lock is configured to selectively engage and disengage at least one wheel of the pair of wheels. Engagement of the at least one wheel with the wheel lock restricts rotation of the wheel. The authenticator is configured to authenticate a user for transporting the portable container. If the authenticator fails to authenticate the user, the wheel lock is actuated to engage the at least one wheel of the pair of wheels to restrict rotation of the wheel.

SAFETY STORAGE SYSTEM AND METHOD

A storage system, comprising a body having a cavity therein configured to house one or more items, and an opening defined by the body and a panel configured to mate with the opening and prevent access to the cavity when the panel is in position; the system have a first level of security securing items stored in the cavity; a second level of security securing the body from a structure from which it is hung, and an third level of security disguising the storage system as a hanging piece of clothing.
