Methods, apparatuses and systems for anchoring umbrellas and canopies
A beach umbrella anchoring system including an anchor member container, in the form of a cylindrical beach umbrella carrying bag, for containing a weighting medium, such as sand or water, and a connector for connecting the container to a beach umbrella restraining device; and a beach umbrella restraining device including a flexible cable member, a releasable connector fixed to one end of the cable for releasably connecting the cable to a beach umbrella, a second releasable connector, fixed to the other end of the cable, for releasably connecting the cable member to the anchor member, and a third releasable connector, attached to the anchor member for releasably attaching to the ground. The anchoring system may be supplied in the form of a kit comprising the anchoring member (beach bag), umbrella and the restraining device.
DECK UMBRELLA SUPPORT SYSTEM
A deck umbrella support system securely retains an umbrella attached to an umbrella pole on a deck, wherein the deck has a receiving aperture formed through a surface thereof. The deck umbrella support system may include a mount assembly having a mount tube with a mount plate attached to it. The mount tube has an upper end and a lower end, wherein the upper end includes a mount aperture formed through it. An adapter assembly, which is at least partially hollow, includes an adapter tube which is designed and configured to receive at least a portion of the umbrella pole therein and to be inserted into the mount tube via the mount aperture. A locking assembly is disposed proximate to the lower end of the mount tube to secure the adapter tube in the mount tube.
Self-adjusting sun shade assembly
The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a sun shade assembly. Particularly, the assembly includes a sail that releasably attaches to a pair of ribs, providing shade to the user. At least one support arm can be used to reinforce the ribs. A mast provides height to the assembly and includes an anchor that allows the assembly to be secured into a support surface (e.g., sand). The ribs and support arms rotate about the mast, thereby self-adjusting the direction of sail in response to the wind blowing. The assembly further includes a tension adjuster that can be tightened or loosed to control the rotation of the ribs and support arms in response to wind conditions.

Portable suspended inverted umbrella with quick release fabric
A portable lightweight sun blocking shade system designed to provide freedom of movement under the shaded area, with a fast deployment and a safe fabric release under high wind conditions. To make shade over a desired area, position the holder apparatus to block sun, suspend the closed umbrella shade apparatus at the overhead hanger, open the suspended umbrella with a simple vertical lift of the lower handle to lock at the center shaft. To store shade, simply unlock the open umbrella with a push of the handle button, allow gravity to lower the handle, and remove the closed shade from the hanger. The holder apparatus can be left in place, or quickly removed for complete shade system storage.

Movable decorative base assembly selectively attachable to a parasol or umbrella
An improved movable decorative base assembly is provided that includes a receptacle having a bottom, at least one upstanding side wall forming a hollow interior and an open top. The base assembly includes a wheeled, base carriage on which the receptacle may be placed. The decorative base assembly further includes a pole receiver, which is carried by the base carriage and has a receiving hole for attaching a tube or other elongated body carrying a parasol canopy. The receiving hole of the pole receiver aligns with a through hole in the bottom of the receptacle, allowing the elongated body to extend through the receptacle and attach to the pole receiver, the assembly forming a unitary body which can be rolled on a floor or surface. The decorative base assembly allows safe, comfortable, and stable maneuvering, while alleviating physical strains otherwise felt by those utilizing alternative assemblies.

Wind-resistant umbrella comprising a plurality of shingles
The invention is directed to an umbrella comprising a plurality of shingles attached to a webbed or mesh support. The umbrella includes a plurality of shingles attached in an overlapped orientation to a lower mesh layer. Each shingle is supported by a pair of grommets to prevent the shingles from moving and/or rotating in response to the wind. The shingles and mesh arrangement allow air to be vented through the umbrella canopy. As a result, the umbrella effectively resists wind and air gusts that commonly cause conventional umbrellas to be uprooted from the sand and/or damaged.
