An oilwell treatment composition comprising (i) a solubilizing agent wherein the solubilizing agent comprises a saturated compound of the formula:

H—(OC.sub.aH.sub.2a).sub.x(OC.sub.bH.sub.2b).sub.y—OC.sub.cH.sub.2c+1

where a and b are each independently 1, 3, or 4; c is 1, 2 or 3; x and y each independently, are numbers ranging from 1 to 5; (ii) a solid acid precursor and (iii) an aqueous fluid wherein the mass ratio of the solubilizing agent to the aqueous solution is within the range of about 1:3 to about 1:5 and the mass ratio of the solubilizing agent to the solid acid precursor is within the range of about 3:1 to about 2:1.

Fluid supply to sealed tubulars

A Drill-To-The-Limit (DTTL) drilling method variant to Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) applies constant surface backpressure, whether the mud is circulating (choke valve open) or not (choke valve closed). Because of the constant application of surface backpressure, the DTTL method can use lighter mud weight that still has the cutting carrying ability to keep the borehole clean. The DTTL method identifies the weakest component of the pressure containment system, such as the fracture pressure of the formation or the casing shoe leak off test (LOT). With a higher pressure rated RCD, such as 5,000 psi (34,474 kPa) dynamic or working pressure and 10,000 psi (68,948 kPa) static pressure, the limitation will generally be the fracture pressure of the formation or the LOT. In the DTTL method, since surface backpressure is constantly applied, the pore pressure limitation of the conventional drilling window can be disregarded in developing the fluid and drilling programs.

SPHERICAL SAND SEPARATOR FOR PETROLEUM AND NATURAL GAS WELLS
20230193703 · 2023-06-22 ·

A sand separator for capturing solid debris from oil and gas wells includes a spherical, high-pressure vessel adapted to couple downstream of a wellhead. Fluid entering the separator follows a helical path around a vertical separator axis, slowing and separating into water, gas, oil and solid debris, the latter sinking to the bottom. A conical, downwardly opening flue descends from an exit port at the top and terminates in a horizontal, coaxial perimeter. A scalloped, annular collar inside the flue perimeter creates a low barrier to fluid flow into the flue. As fluid constituents circulate toward the flue, they recombine free of sand and rock debris, pass under the flue perimeter and across the collar, slowing further and becoming substantially laminar A fluid dome rises inside the flue with a gas layer above other fluid constituents, permitting the gas to exit the separator through the exit port.

DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND MESEALANT ACROSS HIGHLY FRACTURED FORMATIONS DURING DRILLING OF OIL AND GAS WELLS

A tool is used to inject a rapidly solidifying sealant into and across highly fractured oil and gas wellbore formations when a significant loss circulation zone or event is encountered. A system including the tool allows for application of the sealant to the formation without requiring removal of the drill string from the hole. The tool may have operatively associate with containers storing sealant and or sealant components that are provided downhole from the surface via wireline or the like.
