UNTETHERED DOWNHOLE TOOL SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Techniques according to the present disclosure include moving an untethered downhole tool through a wellbore between a terranean surface and a particular depth in the wellbore; during the moving the untethered downhole tool through the wellbore, acquiring a set of sensed data from one or more sensors in the untethered downhole tool in a time domain; transforming the plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in the time-domain into a plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in a depth-domain based at least in part on at least one accelerometer output and the locations of a plurality of casing collars; and preparing the plurality of data values associated with the wellbore parameter in the depth-domain for presentation on a graphical user interface (GUI).
Mode selector for a downhole tool
Embodiments herein relate to apparatus for selecting between direct manipulations of a downhole tool and shifting of the operational mode of a downhole tool, and more particularly to a mode selector tool coupled with a J-Slot mechanism for the downhole tool, the selector enabling either an unimpeded shifting of, or a locking, of the J-Slot mechanism and connected downhole tool.
Method and apparatus for identifying and remediating loss circulation zone
Systems and methods for managing a loss circulation zone in a subterranean well include a tool housing located on a surface of a tubular member with a tool cavity that is an interior open space within the tool housing. An electromechanical system is located within the tool cavity and has a printed circuit board, a microprocessor, a sensor system, a power source, and a communication port assembly. A release system can move a deployment door of a deployment opening of the tool housing between a closed position and an open position. The deployment opening can provide a flow path between the tool cavity and an outside of the tool housing. The release system is actuable autonomously by the electromechanical system. A releasable product is located within the tool cavity and can travel through the deployment opening when the deployment door is in the open position.
Downhole tool actuators and related methods for oil and gas applications
A downhole tool actuator includes a housing defining an axial bore and a first port extending radially from the axial bore, as well as a piston disposed and movable within the axial bore of the housing. The piston includes a receptacle wall, a shaft extending axially from the receptacle wall, and a contact member extending across the shaft. The receptacle wall defines a chamber and a second port extending radially from the chamber. The contact member is positioned outside of the housing and is configured to engage a downhole tool.
DRILL STRING ELEMENT AND DETACHABLE DRIVING ELEMENT
An assembly of a drill string element adapted to be held by the drill pipe rams of a blowout preventer (BOP) to enable the drill string to be disconnected at the BOP and a detachable driving element is described. The drill string element comprises a housing portion defining a longitudinal bore along a longitudinal axis X-X of the housing portion. At least one recess is arranged in the longitudinal bore, said at least one said recess (8) being arranged to engage at least one lug of a detachable driving element arranged to be disposed in the longitudinal bore to rotationally lock the housing portion and detachable driving element together.
System and Method for Autonomous Tools
Autonomous tools for use in tubular members associated with managing hydrocarbons. The autonomous tools are at least partially fabricated from a dissolvable material, which is configured to dissolve in the fluid within the tubular member. The autonomous tool includes one or more components that determine the location of the autonomous tool within the tubular member and actuate the actuatable tool component once a predetermined or selected location has been reached within the tubular member.
DEGRADABLE CARBIDE GRIP
An apparatus can include a degradable matrix that is degradable in an aqueous environment; and non-degradable particles disposed at least in part within the matrix where the non-degradable particles are not degradable in the aqueous environment where the non-degradable particles can include tungsten carbide.
METHOD FOR PACKAGING COMPONENTS, ASSEMBLIES AND MODULES IN DOWNHOLE TOOLS
The apparatus may include a tool conveyed by a conveyance device. The tool has a body with a load bearing section, an outer surface defined by a diameter, a rotational axis, and a channel in the body extending from an opening at the outer surface. At least a part of the channel is inclined relative to the rotational axis of the body at the axial location of the opening in the body. The apparatus also includes at least one functional element disposed in the channel; and a conduit operatively connected to the at least one functional element transferring at least one of: (i) energy, (ii) a signal, (iii) a fluid, (iv) and formation material. Alternatively, the apparatus includes at least one self-contained functional element disposed in the channel.
MULTIPLE PORTION GRIP
A component can include a degradable portion that is degradable in an aqueous environment; and a non-degradable portion that is not degradable in the aqueous environment where the non-degradable portion can include polycrystalline diamond.
Method and apparatus for gaining reentry below abandoned wellbore equipment
Systems and methods for accessing a wellbore of a subterranean well downhole of abandoned subterranean wellbore equipment include a re-entry guide secured to an uphole end of an overshot. The re-entry guide and overshot together form a re-entry tool. The overshot has an inner diameter gripping assembly sized to grip a tubing stub. The re-entry guide has an outer diameter sized to match a drift inner diameter of a casing of the subterranean well.
