DRILLING FLUID CONDITIONING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A drilling fluid conditioning system for a well system includes a return conduit configured to receive drilling fluid recirculated from a wellbore of the well system, a drilling fluid pre-chilling system in fluid communication with and downstream from the return conduit, wherein the drilling fluid pre-chilling system includes a cooler configured to transfer heat from the drilling fluid to a heat sink, and a solids control system in fluid communication with and downstream from the drilling fluid pre-chilling system, wherein the solids control system is configured to separate at least some solids from the drilling fluid.
Spallation drill head and associated methods
A spallation drill head can include a drill head body having a primary face substantially oriented facing in a primary drilling direction along a longitudinal axis of the drill head body. A liquid inlet can be on the drill head body. The liquid inlet can be connected or connectable to a liquid supply line. An internal liquid connection can be oriented within the drill head body and fluidly connected to the liquid inlet. A plurality of liquid jets can be oriented on the primary face of the drill head. The liquid jets can be fed by the liquid inlet through the internal liquid connection. A mass flow controller can be associated with the liquid jets to control delivery of liquid by the liquid jet, and flowrates to at least two of the liquid jets can be independently controllable.

Nano-thermite well plug
A composition and methods for setting a plug for well bores undergoing plugging and abandonment operations is described. Methods of setting the plug are also described include placing a blocking device below the plug location and creating a void space above the blocking device; placing a heat resistant base plate above the blocking device and introducing nano-thermite clusters and expandable bismuth alloy pellets into the void space; igniting the thermite and cooling the melted alloy to form a permanent plug in the void space.

ELECTRO-HYDROFRACTURING USING ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE PROPPANTS AND RELATED METHODS
The present disclosure describes electro-hydrofracturing (E-HF) using electrically conductive proppants and methods for hydraulic fracturing using electrically conductive proppants.
Lens driving apparatus
Disclosed is a lens driving apparatus. The lens driving apparatus includes a base formed at a center thereof with a first opening; a housing coupled with the base and having a second opening corresponding to the first opening; a yoke installed on the base and including a horizontal plate having a third opening corresponding to the first opening and a vertical plate protruding upward from the horizontal plate; a bobbin movably installed in the yoke and coupled with a lens module; a coil fixedly disposed around the bobbin; a plurality of magnets provided at the vertical plate of the yoke to face the coil; and a spring installed on at least one of upper and lower portions of the yoke to return the bobbin, which has moved up due to interaction between the magnet and the coil, to its initial position.
Combined well plug/chemical heater assemblies for use in down-hole operations and associated heater cartridges
The present invention provides a cartridge (1) for a chemical heater used in down-hole operations. The cartridge (1) comprises a quantity of a chemical reaction heat source (2) wrapped in a temporary coating (3) that is capable of maintaining the shape of the cartridge (1) prior to use but which is consumed during the burn of the heater. The present invention also provides a eutectic/bismuth based alloy well plugging/sealing tool (5). The tool (5) having a tubular heater body (6) with an internal cavity (8) capable of receiving a chemical heat source and a quantity of eutectic/bismuth based alloy (7) provided in thermal communication with the heater body (6) around an outer surface of the heater body (6). The tool has a sleeve (10) provided around an outer surface of the alloy (7), which insulates and/or mechanically protects the alloy (7) down-hole. In this way the sleeve (10) enables the diameter of tool (5) to be reduced whilst maintaining its functionality. In further aspect, the present invention also discloses the provision of a refractory lining (20) on the inner walls of the tubular heater body of chemical heaters, such as the heater (6) used in the eutectic/bismuth based alloy well plugging/sealing tool (5).

Thermally deformable annular packers
The present invention provides a thermally deformable annular packer with pressure relief means for use in oil and gas wells. The annular packer is formed from a stack of component parts, said parts comprising one or more eutectic alloy based ring sections sandwiched between two end sections. At least one of the annular packer component parts has one or more enclosed voids that are configured to become exposed when the packer is subjected to a predetermined pressure or temperature. The exposure of the enclosed voids serves to increase the effective volume within the sealed region formed by the annular packer in the annulus between two coaxial well casing/tubing. The increase in the effective volume serves to reduce the pressure within the sealed region thus preventing a build-up of pressure that might otherwise have damaged the well casing/tubing.
