Device for gripping an object in a constrained space
A gripper assembly for gripping coiled tubing with lower and upper ball carriers. A first gripper portion and a second gripper portion each have a channel for a bore through the gripper portions. Gripper portions can rotate in relation to each other. Rotation causes the gripper portion to close around an object that passes through the bore. With a translational force, the gripper portions rotate relative to each other to grasp an object.
Support system, excavation arrangement, and process of supporting an object
A support system, an excavation arrangement, and a process of supporting an object are disclosed. The support system includes a weight-bearing device and a camming mechanism positioned below the weight-bearing device. A downward force on the weight-bearing device at least partially secures the camming mechanism to opposing surfaces. The excavation arrangement includes a borehole, a support system positioned within and secured to the borehole, and an object positioned on and supported by the support system. The process includes positioning and securing the support system and positioning the object on the weight-bearing device.
DISPOSITIVO PARA SUJETAR Y ATRAPAR UN CABLE EN UN POZO DE EXPLOTACION PETROLERA
A security device placed at a wellhead over a blowout preventer valve, which can be activated to catch a cable and/or a string of pipes upon a cut event or accident, preventing the fall of the same into the well, which includes: an upper horizontal plate and lower horizontal plate, vertically aligned, each having a circular central orifice for the passing of a string of pipes and/or a cable, and a cutout on the front part thereof, located between its front edge and the circular orifice; lateral support device, located between the upper and lower plates, that connect the plates together, delimiting an aperture at the front part of the device that together with the cutouts on the upper and lower plates form a front passage toward the inside of the device; at least two clamps driven by corresponding hydraulic cylinders, which are arranged at an acute angle with the vertical axis of the device; and a movable vertical plate arranged on the front part of the device between the lateral support means, pivotally connected by one of its sides to the upper and lower plates. The movable vertical plate, in a first position, allows for the horizontal passing of a string of pipes and/or cables through the front passage to a location at the center of the device, and in a second position, the movable vertical plate blocks the front passage. In a first position the clamps allow for vertical movement of the string of pipes and or cables and in a second position the clamps block the movement of the same.
Ball-clamp type fall arrester for drill pipe
The present invention discloses a ball-clamp type fall arrester for a drill pipe, which includes a base and a steel ball seat arranged in the base. The steel ball seat is provided with a liftable steel ball frame. A side wall of the steel ball frame is provided with a plurality of limit hole. An inner wall of the steel ball seat is provided with a guide ramp. The plurality of limit holes are respectively provided with a plurality of steel balls which are movable radially. When the steel ball frame is lifted or lowered, a radial position of each steel ball in a corresponding limit hole is positioned by the guide ramp.

Elevator grip assurance
An interlock device for connection within a load path of a tubular support device to lock the tubular support device in a closed position in response to detecting a load suspended from the tubular support device. The interlock device includes a first member moveably connected to a second member and a biasing mechanism operationally connected to the first member and the second member providing a load setting resisting movement of the first member and the second member relative to one another. The first and the second member may be rotationally locked with one another to transmit rotation across the interlock device to the elevator.
Internal slip including one or more symmetrical teeth
Provided is an internal slip, a sealing/anchoring subassembly, a well system, and method. The internal slip, in one aspect, includes a tubular, the tubular having a tubular inner diameter (ID.sub.t) and a tubular outer diameter (OD.sub.t). The internal slip, in this aspect, further includes a first set of teeth disposed along the tubular inner diameter (ID.sub.t), the first set of teeth configured to engage with base teeth disposed on a base outer diameter (OD.sub.B) of a base positioned radially inside of the tubular. The internal slip, in this aspect, further includes a second set of teeth disposed along the tubular outer diameter (OD.sub.t), the second set of teeth configured to engage with stroke sleeve teeth disposed on a stroke sleeve outer diameter (OD.sub.SS) of a stroke sleeve positioned radially outside of the tubular, wherein one or more of the second set of teeth are generally symmetrical about a centerline thereof.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING A HOUSINGLESS TUBING ANCHOR CATCHER
A housingless tubing anchor catcher (TAC) is described herein. While the TAC can have any suitable component, in some cases, it includes a mandrel that defines an internal channel and a first cone and a second opposing cone that are each threadingly coupled to the mandrel such that movement of the mandrel in a first direction with respect to the cones causes the cones to move closer together. In some cases, a slip is disposed between the first and second cone such that when the cones move closer together, the slip is forced lateral from the TAC to engage an inner wall of the casing. In some cases, the TAC lacks a cylindrical outer housing that extends around a circumference of the first and second cones. Instead, the first and second cones are coupled together via a cone coupler. Other implementations are also described.
Wireline-set plug apparatus operable for holding pressure or as an ESP catcher
An assembly which includes (a) a plug apparatus having slips, an outer sealing element, and a pump-out plug which blocks internal flow through the apparatus for use as a bridge plug and (b) a wireline adapter kit having an adapter rod which screws into the pump-out plug to set the plug apparatus by wireline, wherein the adapter rod shears from the pump-out plug when the set pressure is reached, the plug apparatus is convertible to a flow-through catching plug by applying a pump-out pressure to the pump-out plug from above, and the plug apparatus is retrievable after use.
