Compressible carbon particles to mitigate annular pressure buildup using compressible particles

A collection of compressible particles. The compressible particles are intended to be used for attenuating pressure build-up within a confined volume such as a trapped annulus in a wellbore. Each of the compressible particles is fabricated to collapse in response to fluid pressure within the confined volume, and comprises carbon. Particularly, each of the particles comprises a plurality of peripheral openings, permitting an ingress of wellbore fluids in response to an increase in pressure within a trapped annulus. The collection of compressible particles together has a reversible volumetric expansion/contraction of ≥10% and up to 25% at pressures up to 10,000 psi. A method of attenuating annular pressure buildup within a wellbore using the collection of compressible particles is also provided.

Systems and methods for generation of electrical power in an organic Rankine cycle operation

Systems and methods for generating and a controller for controlling generation of geothermal power in an organic Rankine cycle (ORC) operation to thereby supply electrical power to one or more of in-field operational equipment, a grid power structure, and an energy storage device. In an embodiment, during hydrocarbon production, a temperature of a flow of heated fluid from a source or working fluid may be determined. If the temperature is above a vaporous phase change threshold of the working fluid, heat exchanger valves may be opened to divert flow of heated fluid to heat exchangers to facilitate heat transfer from the flow of wellhead fluid to working fluid through the heat exchangers, thereby to cause the working fluid to change from a liquid to vapor, the vapor to cause a generator to generate electrical power via rotation of an expander.

Recording Data From Flow Networks

A method for recording data relating to the performance of an oil and gas flow network uses statistical data to represent raw data in a compact form. Categories are assigned to time intervals in the data. The method comprises: (1) gathering data covering a period of time, wherein the data relates to the status of one or more control point(s) within the flow network and to one or more flow parameter(s) of interest in one or more flow path(s) of the flow network; (2) identifying multiple time intervals in the data during which the control points and the flow parameter(s) can be designated as being in a category selected from multiple categories; (3) assigning a selected category of the multiple categories to each one of the multiple datasets that are framed by the multiple time intervals; and (4) extracting statistical data representative of some or all of the datasets identified in step (2) to thereby represent the original data from step (1) in a compact form including details of the category assigned to each time interval in step (3).

INTEGRATED MODELING USING MULTIPLE SUBSURFACE MODELS

A method of integrated modeling using multiple subsurface models includes receiving multiple sets of input values associated with a hydrocarbon formation of the Earth. The method also includes receiving a network model that includes one or more assets configured to distribute a flow of hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon formation to a processing facility. The method further includes generating the multiple subsurface models based on the multiple sets of input values, wherein each subsurface model comprises a set of input values of the multiple sets of input values, and wherein each subsurface model represents a production of the flow of hydrocarbons from the hydrocarbon formation. The method also includes applying the multiple subsurface models to the network model to generate an integrated model comprising multiple production rates of hydrocarbons via the one or more assets over time. The method further includes identifying at least one asset to adjust based on the integrated model.
