Calibration Methods for Oil Based Mud Imager Tools
A method and assembly for calibrating downhole imaging tools includes a calibrator mechanism with a known electromagnetic response, whereby the calibrator mechanism is simultaneously engaged with a plurality of injector electrodes and the at least one return electrode carried on a pad of the downhole imaging tool. A current is injected into the calibrator mechanism by the injector electrodes and the response of the tool is measured. The calibrator mechanism if formed of a homogenous material or fluid so that the electromagnetic response is uniform throughout. The measured electromagnetic response can be compared to the known electromagnetic response and a calibration adjustment can be determined. The calibration adjustment can then be applied to future downhole measurements obtained during an imaging operation.

A camera generates image data associated with the operational data and transmits the image data to the data acquisition board. A processor on the data acquisition board is configured to synchronize the operational data with the image data. A mobile communications device receives the operational data synchronized with the image data from the processor. A database server is remote from the above ground drill rig and in communication with the mobile communications device, and the database server is configured to receive the operational data synchronized with the image data from the mobile communications device.
PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS FOR CORRELATING WELL LOGGING DATA
Processes and systems for correlating well log data sets from well logging passes within a well bore. In some embodiments, a process for well log depth matching can include normalizing a first well log from a first logging pass obtained within a well bore and a second well log from a second logging pass obtained within the well bore, performing a pre-shift, performing feature picking to identify one or more features along the second well log, performing normalized cross-correlation based optimization between the first well log and the second well log to match the one or more features along the second well log to the same one or more features of the first well log and generating a shift table for depth shifting the one or more features of the second well log and the first well log.
Multiple casing inspection tool combination with 3D arrays and adaptive dual operational modes
Methods, systems, devices, and products for taking multi-component induction tool measurements of a three-dimensional space from an interior of a plurality of nested tubulars in a borehole in an earth formation and estimating the property for each of the at least two tubulars using the multi-component induction tool measurements. The multicomponent induction tool measurements may be responsive to a property corresponding to at least two conductive tubulars of the plurality of nested tubular. Taking multi-component induction tool measurements may include taking three-dimensional low-frequency sinusoidal frequency domain waveform resistivity measurements and taking three-dimensional transient EM measurements with the multi-component induction tool.
Automatic abnormal trend detection of real time drilling data for hazard avoidance
An abnormal trend detection system for detecting one or more hazards may provide for a safe and effective drilling operation as any of the one or more hazards may be avoided. Several indicators may be defined including a first, second, third and fourth indicator. The indicators are used to identify in a trend analysis abnormal trends. One or more thresholds may be defined. When a trend analysis indicates that a threshold has been reached or exceeded an alarm may be triggered, a drilling operation may be altered or a combination thereof.

METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS IN DOWNHOLE DATA FOR HYDOCARBON SATURATION ESTIMATION
Methods and systems for drilling a well into a subsurface formation are configured for performing a downhole measurement to generate measured logging-while-drilling (LWD) data; retrieving a machine learning model that is trained using labeled LWD data, the labeled LWD data representing one or more environmental effects each causing a respective data signature in the LWD data, each respective data signature being associated with a corresponding label identifying the environmental effect; inputting the LWD data into the machine learning model; generating, by the machine learning model based on the inputting, a classification output representing at least one environmental effect represented in the LWD data; and generating, based on the classification output, corrected LWD data that removes a change to the LWD data caused by the environmental effect. The systems and methods are configured for drilling a well into the subsurface based on the corrected LWD data.
REAL TIME DOWNHOLE WATER CHEMISTRY AND USES
Method of monitoring produced water at each perforation or entry point by real time ion sensor deployed downhole to measure the content of water soluble ions. Methods of determining and differentiating nature of water breakthrough in oil production; such as between cycled injection water through a void space conduit, matrix swept injection water and formation water, especially as relates to offshore oil production. Real time ion sensors are deployed and when compared with known standards are used to monitor and remediate water breakthrough, prevent scale deposition, and the like.
SENSOR TRANSPORTATION DEVICE
A device for transporting a sensor assembly down a bore of a known diameter comprises a pair of wheels offset in a radial direction by a first radial distance from a longitudinal axis of the sensor assembly and at least one eccentric weight. The first radial distance and a lateral distance between the wheels and a diameter of the wheels configures the device so that, in use, a longitudinal axis of the sensor assembly is substantially coincident with a longitudinal axis of the bore when the wheels are in contact with a wall of the bore. The at least one eccentric weight is positioned so that a centre of mass of the combined device and sensor assembly is offset in the radial direction from the longitudinal axis of the sensor assembly by a second radial distance that is greater than the first radial distance to orient the device and sensor assembly by gravity in a most stable position with the rotational axis of the wheels and the centre of mass below the longitudinal axis of the sensor assembly with the wheels in contact with a low side of the wall of the bore.
STEERING ACTUATION METHODOLOGY FOR A ROTARY STEERABLE SYSTEM
A method for drilling a subterranean wellbore includes rotating a bottom hole assembly (BHA) in the wellbore to drill. The BHA includes a rotary steerable tool or a steerable drill bit having at least one external pad configured to extend radially outward into contact with a wall of the wellbore and thereby steer the drilling. A rotation rate of the BHA is measured and a drilling parameter waveform is received. The rotation rate and the waveform are processed to select discrete times for extending the at least one external pad while drilling.
