COMPONENT FOR ROCK BREAKING SYSTEM
A component for a rock breaking system is magnetized into a state of remanent magnetization. The remanent magnetization of the component has a predetermined varying magnetization profile relative to geometry of the component, the varying magnetization profile describing varying magnetization intensity in the component relative to the geometry of the component.
Visualization of Wellbore Cleaning Performance
A method for displaying performance of a wellbore drilling operation including wellbore cleaning includes defining drilling parameters for the drilling operation. The method includes defining a visualization tool including a boundary defined by the drilling parameters, where the boundary depicts an optimal rate of penetration (ROP). The method includes displaying the visualization tool with the optimal ROP, where the optimal ROP defines a maximum ROP for optimal wellbore cleaning based on the drilling parameters. The method includes displaying an actual rate of penetration (ROP) with respect to the optimal ROP on the visualization tool. The method further includes adjusting the actual ROP to match the optimal ROP.
PRODUCTION MONITORING - MULTI VOLUME DYNAMIC SEMI STEADY PARAMETRIC MODEL
A production monitoring system comprises a plurality of production and injection wells coupled in operation to sensors for measuring physical processes occurring in operation in the production and injection wells and generating corresponding measurement signals for computing software. The computing hardware is operable to execute software products to analyze said measurement signals to abstract a parameter representation of said measurement signals, and to apply said parameters to estimate at least one parametric model of said plurality of injection and production wells, and to employ one of these models for monitoring the system.
REPEATER FOR A WELLBORE
A repeater system provided in a wellbore including a plurality of communication units spaced at intervals along a length of a wellbore, the communication units being communicatively coupled via a transmission medium. The communication units are configured to relay data from one communication unit to another communication unit selected from the plurality of communication units along the transmission medium, wherein at least one of the communication units is hopped over as data is relayed across the plurality of communication units along the length of the wellbore.
Photopeak Location Systems And Methods
A laser photopeak location system comprises a gamma-ray spectrometer and a processor. The processor computes a plurality of correlation coefficients based on a comparison of a pulse-height spectrum of the gamma-ray spectrometer with an array of values. The processor locates one or more photopeaks of the pulse-height spectrum based on at least one of the plurality of correlation coefficients. Additional apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed.
DYNAMIC SENSING OF THE TOP OF CEMENT (TOC) DURING CEMENTING OF A WELL CASING IN A WELL BORE
A well casing is cemented in a well bore in a subterranean formation by pumping cement slurry down into the well casing so that the cement slurry flows up into an annulus surrounding the well casing. While pumping the cement slurry, the position of the top of the cement slurry in the annulus is sensed, and the rise of the sensed position of the top of the cement slurry in the annulus is recorded as a function of time. The recording is analyzed to evaluate the cement job. For example, the analysis may indicate a problem addressed by adjusting a cement plan for a future cement job, and the analysis may indicate a need to repair a location of the set cement by perforating the well casing at the location to be repaired, and pumping cement slurry down the well casing to fill the location to be repaired.
CASING COUPLING HAVING COMMUNCATION UNIT FOR EVALUATING DOWNHOLE CONDITIONS
A communication unit is situated in or on a casing collar. The casing collar has two threaded ends for joining casing joints to construct a well casing, and a communication unit is disposed in or on a central region of the tube between the two threaded ends. In an example, the communication unit has a transmitter for transmitting sensor data uphole from a sensor sensing a well bore condition. For example, the communication unit has a receiver for receiving sensor data from Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) sensors, a transceiver for interrogating RFID tags, an acoustic transceiver for sensing wellbore conditions, a pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, and batteries for powering the communication unit.

Hydrocarbon wells and methods of probing a subsurface region of the hydrocarbon wells
Hydrocarbon wells and methods of probing a subsurface region of the hydrocarbon wells. The hydrocarbon wells include a wellbore, a downhole sensor storage structure, and a detection structure. The wellbore may extend within a subsurface region and between a surface region and a downhole end region. The downhole sensor storage structure is configured to release a flowable sensor into a wellbore fluid that extends within the wellbore, and the flowable sensor may be configured to collect sensor data indicative of at least one property of the subsurface region. The detection structure may be configured to query the flowable sensor to determine the at least one property of the subsurface region. The methods include releasing a flowable sensor, collecting sensor data with the flowable sensor, and querying the flowable sensor.
