DRILL AND BLAST METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE SAME
Disclosed is a drill and blast method for advancing the tunnel face in a mine, which makes use of a mobile canopy. The mobile canopy having vertical supports connected to a frame that supports a shield. The mobile canopy allows for face production activities and ground support activities to occur simultaneously or near simultaneously. This allows for more rapid advancement of the tunnel face compared to traditional batch drill and blast techniques.

Ram accelerator system
One or more ram accelerator devices may be used to form one or more holes in geologic or other material. These holes may be used for drilling, tunnel boring, excavation, and so forth. The ram accelerator devices propel projectiles which are accelerated by combustion of one or more combustible gasses in a ram effect to reach velocities exceeding 500 meters per second.
EXPANSION PIPE FOR BLASTING AND BLASTING METHOD THEREFOR
Provided are an expansion pipe for blasting and a blasting method therefor. The expansion pipe comprises a main pipe (1) of which the head and tail ends are provided with a first plug (3) and a second plug (4) and a branch pipe (2) which is fixed to the interior of the main pipe (1) by means of the first plug (3), wherein a gasification agent and an electric starter (7) mounted on the first plug (3) are provided inside the branch pipe (2), the other end of the branch pipe (2) is provided with a sealing plug (5), a connecting pipe (6) is further provided at the head of the main pipe (1), one end of the connecting pipe (6) is connected to a gas source or a water source and the other end penetrates through the first plug (3) to be in communication with the inner cavity of the main pipe (1). When the expansion pipe is used, a group of the expansion pipes are connected in a head-to-tail manner via fixing pieces (8), then a hole is punched at a blasting point, the connected and fixed expansion pipe group is placed into the hole, the opening of the hole is sealed with cement, and finally the electric starter (7) is started through a remote controller outside a dangerous range, and the gasification agent is ignited by the electric starter (7), causing water gasification or air expansion inside the main pipe (1), such that the expansion pipes are blasted.
Triggering explosives in holes
An assembly (7) for triggering an explosive in a hole (9) to produce an explosive blast in the hole includes (a) an explosion trigger (15, 19) for triggering the explosive in the hole, (b) a detonation unit body (21) that is configured to be located at or proximate an open end of the hole in an initial position of the assembly in the hole and (c) a trigger cord (31) that is connected to the detonation unit body and to the explosion trigger.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A DRILLING MACHINE
A system and method for drilling a borehole using a drilling rig having a rotary drill bit includes monitoring one or more drilling parameters; determining whether the one or more monitored drilling parameters are within predetermined specifications for one or more of the monitored drill parameters; and, executing an exception control procedure for control of a drilling parameter. The exception control procedure receives an input sensor value associated with a drilling parameter and applies feedback control to establish a scaled error value that is used to compute a setting value for the drilling parameter. The drilling parameters controlled may include the rotation speed of the drill bit, the feed rate of the drill bit, the weight-on-bit, or rotation torque during retraction of the drill bit. A computer-readable database of specifications of drill bits may be provided as a part of the system.
