Deep sea mining method
A deep-sea mining device is sunk to a seabed mining area. A window of an exploding wire unit of a pulse exploding wire group is aligned to an exploding area. A strong pulse current is applied to an exploding wire of the exploding wire unit by an intense pulse power supply, and the exploding wire of the exploding wire unit and seawater in an exploding wires area are vaporized to generate shock waves, thereby breaking rocks through the impact of the seawater. The instantaneous high pressure causes the shock waves to crush the ore bed, and the pressure of the shock waves generated by the explosion of the exploding wire can be controlled by controlling the pulse voltage and current, so as to control the crushing head to crush rocks with different thicknesses.

Pumping System
A pumping system for pumping a medium is described. The system comprises: at least one transverse pressure exchange chamber, but preferably multiple pressure exchange chambers. Each pressure exchange chamber has a valve arrangement at each end. The system also includes a pressurised discharge at a delivery end of the system and a filling mechanism operable to fill the pressure exchange chamber with the medium. A positive displacement pump is operable to pump a driving fluid in direct contact with the medium so that the medium is pumped from the pressure exchange chamber to the pressurised discharge. A method of pumping a medium is also described.

SYSTEMS, MODULES, AND SUBMERSIBLE VEHICLES FOR COLLECTING MATERIAL FROM A SEAFLOOR
A submersible vehicle for collecting material from a seafloor includes a chassis. A module may be supported on the chassis, the module including an electric power supply. A drive system may be supported on the chassis, the drive system including a battery, and a propulsion assembly, the battery in electrical communication with the electric power supply and the propulsion assembly, and the propulsion assembly operable to locate the chassis relative to a seafloor. A power tool may be coupled to the chassis, the power tool operable to collect material from the seafloor. A reactor may be supported on the chassis, the reactor defining a reaction chamber. A valve assembly may be actuatable to move a hydrogen-containing gas from the reaction chamber and direct the hydrogen-containing gas to one or more of the electric power supply or the power tool.
Carbondisulfide derived zwitterions
Amines and amine derivatives that improve the buffering range, and/or reduce the chelation and other negative interactions of the buffer and the system to be buffered. The reaction of amines or polyamines with various molecules to form polyamines with differing pKa's will extend the buffering range, derivatives that result in polyamines that have the same pKa yields a greater buffering capacity. Derivatives that result in zwitterionic buffers improve yield by allowing a greater range of stability.

Moving-riser method and system for harvesting natural gas from seabed hydrates
A method and equipment for harvesting natural gas from seabed hydrates are disclosed. The preferred equipment includes a mobile riser, a water injection nozzle, a gas collector, a gas separator, a gas compressor, a water pump, and a water boiler. A fraction of produced gas is used to heat water which is in turn injected to seafloor for dissociating gas hydrates. The preferred method of the invention comprises producing natural gas from seabed hydrates using a production ship with a moving riser installed. This method eliminates the need of drilling wells and thus cuts cost of gas production tremendously.
