BLADE REPAIR METHOD, BLADE, AND GAS TURBINE
This blade repair method has: a first welding step in which overlay welding in which a first welding material is used is performed to form a notched part and a bury a first region positioned on a blade-body side with a first welding material; and a second welding step in which, after the first welding step, overlay welding in which a second welding material is used is performed to form a notched part and bury a second region positioned on a front-surface side of a platform with the second welding material. The high-temperature strength of the second welding material is higher than the high-temperature strength of the first welding material, the weldability of the first welding material is higher than the weldability of the second welding material, and the second region is located in a range from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm (inclusive) from the front surface of the platform toward the blade body.
SLOTTED CERAMIC COATING WITH A REACTIVE PHASE COATING DISPOSED THEREON FOR IMPROVED CMAS RESISTANCE AND METHODS OF FORMING THE SAME
A coated component including a slotted ceramic coating with a reactive phase coating disposed thereon for improved resistance to environmental contaminant compositions, along with methods of its formation, is provided. The coated component may include a substrate defining a surface, a ceramic coating disposed on the surface of the substrate, and a reactive phase coating disposed on the layer of environmental contaminant compositions. The ceramic coating includes a plurality of slots disposed in the ceramic coating forming segments of ceramic coating material.
Line-of-sight coating fixture and apparatus
An embodiment of a line-of-sight coating fixture includes a support structure, a spindle, and a shadow structure. The support structure includes a plurality of compartments disposed below a platter, each compartment having an opening on a periphery of the support structure. Each compartment is adapted to receive and secure a base of a workpiece such that a body of each workpiece to be coated is disposed about a periphery of the support structure and extends above the platter. The spindle is disposed through a center of the platter or support structure for rotating the workpieces thereabout. The shadow structure is disposed about the spindle, inside of the periphery, the shadow structure sized and adapted to shield a portion of each workpiece from line-of-sight coating material.
Engine inspection and maintenance tool
A tool for performing inspection and/or maintenance operations on an engine defines a longitudinal direction and a tangential direction. The tool includes a base extending along the longitudinal direction and including a body, a first extension member extending from the body in the tangential direction at a first location, and a second extension member extending from the body in the tangential direction at a second location. The second location is spaced from the first location along the longitudinal direction. The tool also includes a pivot member rotatably coupled to the base and moveable between an insertion position in which the pivot member is oriented generally along the longitudinal direction and a deployed position in which the pivot member is oriented away from the longitudinal direction.
Mobile pressure tool for rotor blade processes
A pressure tool for rotor blade repair including a mobile support system including a support surface, a first bladder support assembly including a first inflatable bladder fixedly mounted to the support surface, a second bladder support assembly including a second inflatable bladder pivotally mounted relative to the support surface, and an activation mechanism operatively coupled to the second bladder support assembly. The activation mechanism is operable to selectively shift the second bladder support assembly relative to the first bladder support assembly. A fluid delivery system is operable to direct a fluid into each of the first inflatable bladder and the second inflatable bladder.
Method for pickling a turbomachine component
The invention relates to a method for pickling a turbomachine component (1), comprising the following steps: positioning the component in a closed chamber (2), injecting a gas mixture (3) into the chamber (2), the gas mixture (3) comprising a halogenated gas, heating the chamber (2), the method being characterised in that: the gas mixture further comprises dihydrogen, the heating step is carried out at a temperature higher than 1000° C. and the step of injecting the gas mixture (3) is carried out by circulating through the chamber (2) a flow of gas mixture (3) having a flow rate between 6 and 15 times the volume of the chamber (2) per hour.
Rotor loading system
A rotor loading system for an aircraft turbine engine has a first tool having first proximal and first distal ends. The first proximal end defines a traction interface about a first axis and a first surface radially outward of the traction interface. The first distal end defines first projections spaced circumferentially and extending to outward of the first surface. The system has a second tool with second proximal and second distal ends. The second proximal end defines a torque interface about a second axis and a second surface radially outward of the torque interface. The second distal end defines second projections spaced circumferentially and extending to outward of the second surface. One of the first and the second tool is received by the other one of the tools such that: the first and the second axis are colinear and each of the first projections is received between two second projections.
Method for making a metal part with a complex geometry with a thin wall
A method for producing a thin-walled metal part with complex geometry includes mixing a metal powder with a polymer binder in order to obtain a composite mixture, producing a flexible composite sheet from the composite mixture, cutting, in the flexible composite sheet, a preform based on a contour of the metal part, applying the preform in a mold having a surface configured with a relief of the metal part, and debinding and sintering the preform in order to obtain the metal part.
Spray nozzle device for delivering a restorative coating through a hole in a case of a turbine engine
An atomizing spray nozzle device includes an atomizing zone housing that receives different phases of materials used to form a coating. The atomizing zone housing mixes the different phases of the materials into a two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in a carrier gas. The device also includes a plenum housing fluidly coupled with the atomizing housing and extending from the atomizing housing to a delivery end. The plenum housing includes an interior plenum that receives the two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in the carrier gas from the atomizing zone housing. The device also includes one or more delivery nozzles fluidly coupled with the plenum chamber. The delivery nozzles provide outlets from which the two-phase mixture of ceramic-liquid droplets in the carrier gas is delivered onto one or more surfaces of a target object as the coating on the target object.
Sealing fin fixing apparatus and sealing fin fixing method
A sealing fin fixing apparatus can fix a sealing fin to a rotor in a shortened period of time to minimize variations of the pullout strength of the sealing fin. In the sealing fin fixing apparatus that fixes the sealing fin in a sealing groove defined in the outer circumference of the rotor of a rotary machine and includes a headstock for setting a rotor thereon, a Z-stage movable along a Z-axis, an X-stage movable along an X-axis, a tool rest supported on the X-stage, and a caulking tool mounted on the tool rest and including a shank and a pressing roller, while the pressing roller is being held against a caulking wire inserted, together with the sealing fin, in the sealing groove in the rotor that is set on the headstock, the headstock is actuated to rotate the rotor, thereby caulking the caulking wire to fix the sealing fin to the rotor.
