09792741 · 2017-10-17 · ·

A method of estimation on a curve of a relevant point for detecting an anomaly of a motor. The method includes selecting a profile including a binary code, each component of which codes a direction of variation between two consecutive characteristic points of at least one learning curve, a model making it possible to estimate a relevant point based on a set of characteristic points of a curve and a filter. The method also includes applying the filter of the profile selected to the curve, determining a set of characteristic points of the filtered curve and of a binary code, comparing the determined code and the code of the profile selected, and estimating, as a function of the comparison, the relevant point on the curve based on the characteristic points of the filtered curve and the model of the profile selected.

Method of monitoring for combustion anomalies in a gas turbomachine and a gas turbomachine including a combustion anomaly detection system

A method of monitoring for combustion anomalies in a gas turbomachine includes sensing an exhaust gas temperature at each of a plurality of temperature sensors arranged in an exhaust system of the gas turbomachine, comparing the exhaust gas temperature at each of the plurality of temperature sensors with a mean exhaust gas temperature, determining whether the exhaust gas temperature at one or more of the plurality of temperature sensors deviates from the mean exhaust temperature by a predetermined threshold value, and identifying an instantaneous combustion anomaly at one or more of the temperature sensors sensing a temperature deviating from the mean exhaust temperature by more than the predetermined threshold value.

System and method for turbomachinery blade diagnostics via discrete markings

Systems and methods include a blade monitoring system. The blade monitoring system includes a processor. The processor is configured to receive a sensor signal from a sensor configured to observe a blade of the turbomachinery. The processor is also configured to derive a measurement based on a marking disposed on the blade of the turbomachinery, wherein the marking comprises a discrete feature; and to display the measurement to an operator of the turbomachinery

Blade inspection apparatus and blade inspection method

A blade inspection apparatus has a borescope and a PC. The borescope has a distance sensor for detecting an insertion length when an insertion section of the borescope is inserted through a hole provided in a casing in which a rotor of an engine is housed, an acceleration sensor for detecting an attitude of the insertion section, and distance sensors for detecting two distances from the insertion section to two stator vanes on a stator. The PC compares the attitude and two distances detected in the borescope with the attitude and two distances relating to an inspection image stored in a HDD. When a match occurs therebetween, the PC outputs match information.

METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF FATIGUE LIFETIME CONSUMPTION OF AN ENGINE COMPONENT

A method for determining fatigue lifetime consumption of an engine component, by defining a reference thermal load cycle, the reference thermal load cycle being characterized by a reference load cycle amplitude and a reference load cycle time, and determining a reference load cycle lifetime consumption. The method includes measuring a temperature of the engine component, determining a thermal load cycle based upon the temperature measurement, determining a load cycle amplitude, determining a load cycle time, relating the load cycle time to the reference load cycle time, thereby determining a load cycle time factor, relating the load cycle amplitude to the reference load cycle amplitude, thereby determining a load cycle amplitude factor, combining the load cycle time factor and the load cycle amplitude factor into a combined load cycle factor for determining a load cycle lifetime consumption.

ADAPTIVE FUEL FLOW ESTIMATION WITH FLOW METER FEEDBACK
20170292457 · 2017-10-12 ·

According to an aspect, a correction factor for a fuel flow of a fuel system of an engine is determined. A nominal fuel flow is determined based on a metering valve stroke. The correction factor is applied to the nominal fuel flow to produce an estimated fuel flow to control combustion in the engine.

FUEL ECOLOGY SYSTEM

A fuel ecology system includes a fuel ecology reservoir having a reservoir volume, includes a moveable barrier disposed within the reservoir volume, the movable barrier defining a first volume and a second volume within the reservoir volume, a fuel inlet port in fluid communication with the first volume, a fuel outlet port in fluid communication with the first volume, and a vent port in fluid communication with the second volume.

Method and a device for managing a loss of power on a three-engined power plant

A method of managing a loss of power from a power plant having three engines. During a monitoring step, each engine is monitored in order to detect whether the engine is suffering a loss of power. During a verification step, it is determined whether the power plant is overpowered. During a signalling step, a first alert is generated when an engine has lost power but the power plant is in fact overpowered, and a second alert different from the first alert is generated when an engine has lost power and the power plant is not overpowered.
