In embodiments, an inlet temperature of a flow of gas from a source to an ORC unit may be determined. The source may connect to a main pipeline. The main pipeline may connect to a supply pipeline. The supply pipeline may connect to the ORC unit thereby to allow gas to flow from the source to the ORC unit. Heat from the flow of gas may cause the ORC unit to generate electrical power. The outlet temperature of the flow of the gas from the ORC unit to a return pipe may be determined. A flow of working fluid may be adjusted to a percentage sufficient to maintain temperature of the flow of compressed gas within the selected operating temperature range.

HIGH ENERGY RECOVERY NITRIC ACID PROCESS USING LIQUID OXYGEN CONTAINING FLUID
A novel concept for a high energy and material efficient nitric acid production process and system is provided, wherein the nitric acid production process and system, particularly integrated with an ammonia production process and system, is configured to recover a high amount of energy out of the ammonia that it is consuming, particularly in the form of electricity, while maintaining a high nitric acid recovery in the conversion of ammonia to nitric acid. The energy recovery and electricity generation process comprises pressurizing a liquid gas, such as air, oxygen and/or N.sub.2, subsequently evaporating and heating the pressurized liquid gas, particularly using low grade waste heat generated in the production of nitric acid and/or ammonia, and subsequently expanding the evaporated pressurized liquid gas over a turbine. In particular, the generated electricity is at least partially used to power an electrolyzer to generate the hydrogen needed for the production of ammonia. The novel concepts set out in the present application are particularly useful in the production of nitric acid based on renewable energy sources.

SINGLE-SHAFT COMBINED CYCLE PLANT, TESTING METHOD FOR SINGLE-SHAFT COMBINED CYCLE PLANT, AND CONTROL DEVICE FOR SINGLE-SHAFT COMBINED CYCLE PLANT
This single-shaft combined cycle plant comprises: a power generator; a gas turbine; a steam turbine that is driven by using waste heat from the gas turbine, and is connected to the power generator by a clutch when the rotational speed syncs with the rotational speed of the gas turbine; a steam turbine over-rotation prevention device; a gas turbine over-rotation prevention device; and a control device. The control device sets the power generator to an unloaded state and, whilst maintaining the rotational speed Ng of the gas turbine so as to be higher than the rotational speed Ns of the steam turbine and lower than the maximum rotational speed Nglim of the gas turbine, increases the rotational speed Ns of the steam turbine to the maximum rotational speed Nslim of the steam turbine (time t2-t4) and tests whether or not the steam turbine over-rotation prevention device operates normally.
Systems and processes for power generation
Processes for generating electric power are provided. The processes involve combining a supercritical water stream with a pressurized, heated hydrocarbon-based composition in a mixing device to create a combined feed stream. The combined feed stream is introduced to a supercritical reactor to produce an upgraded product. The upgraded product is depressurized and separated. The upgraded product may be separated into a light and heavy fraction where the light may be introduced to a gas turbine to generate electric power and the heavy fraction may be introduced to a boiler to generate electric power, or both. Alternatively, the depressurized upgraded product may be further separated to produce a fuel oil fraction comprised of cutterstock and a heavy fraction which may be passed to a boiler to generate electric power, and a light fraction, which may be passed to a gas turbine system to generate electric power, or both.
