The invention relates to a hair styling appliance (1) for curling and straightening hair, comprising: a first and a second elongate jaw (2, 3) that are pivotable with respect to one another, the first jaw (2) having a first housing (6) bearing a first flat internal treatment surface (4), and the second jaw (3) having a second housing (7) bearing a second flat internal treatment surface (5), the internal surfaces (4, 5) being intended to pinch a lock of hair, at least one heating element (41, 51) intended to heat at least one internal treatment surface (4, 5). According to the invention, the greatest width l1 of the first housing (6) is less than or equal to 90% of the greatest width l2 of the second housing (7), and at least one of the first housing (6) and the second housing (7) is asymmetric with respect to the median plane in longitudinal section of said first housing (6) or said second housing (7), respectively.

The present invention relates to a High-heat-delivery device suitable for use in an hair straightener, a hair curling iron or an ironing apparatus and suitable for heat transfer to a substrate by direct contact with said substrate, comprising at least one element (A) having a heat transfer contact surface area, wherein the element (A) comprises a thermo-conductive thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: 30 to 89 wt % of a polyester with a Tm of at least 170 C. as measured according to ISO 11357-1/3 (2011) with a scan rate of 10 C./min; and 10 to 50 wt % of glass fibers; and 1 to 40 wt % of a thermo-conductive additive, wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of thermo-conductive thermoplastic polymer composition of element (A).

The present invention relates to a High-heat-delivery device suitable for use in an hair straightener, a hair curling iron or an ironing apparatus and suitable for heat transfer to a substrate by direct contact with said substrate, comprising at least one element (A) having a heat transfer contact surface area, wherein the element (A) comprises a thermo-conductive thermoplastic polymer composition comprising: 30 to 89 wt % of a polyester with a Tm of at least 170 C. as measured according to ISO 11357-1/3 (2011) with a scan rate of 10 C./min; and 10 to 50 wt % of glass fibers; and 1 to 40 wt % of a thermo-conductive additive, wherein the weight percentages are based on the total weight of thermo-conductive thermoplastic polymer composition of element (A).

A hair styling device and a hair styling method are described, for imparting a wave to a section of hair, the device having a first forming member, a second forming member, and a hair-receiving region between the first forming member and the second forming member. A primary driving element is movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member and is adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a hair-deforming direction. The device has a secondary driving element, movable relative to the first forming member and the second forming member, and adapted to move the section of hair in the hair-receiving region in a direction opposed to the hair-deforming direction. The secondary driving element can thereby drive the section of hair into a more relaxed position to produce a more natural looking wave.

HAIR CURLING IRON WITH WINDER
A curling iron that winds a lock of hair about a barrel includes a body that surrounds the barrel and forms a hair-receiving space accessed through an opening in the body. The opening includes a circumferential portion extending about a distal end of the barrel, and a slot extending axially from the circumferential portion toward a proximal end of the barrel. The slot portion is disposed at a longitudinal end of the curling iron for receiving a lock of hair that is elongated parallel to the slot portion and pushed in crosswise. A resilient finger mounted to the body projects and normally closes the slot portion and holds the lock of hair in the hair-receiving space. A gating coupling connects the barrel to the body and provides relative movement between the barrel and the body, between open and closed position, for inserting and releasing a lock of hair.
