Aspects of hair styling instruments and methods for styling hair into waves and curls have been provided herein. In one embodiment, a system for styling hair includes one or more cases for receiving hair therein, the one or more cases including a base having at least a bottom, a center, and an outer annular wall; and a lid coupleable with the base; wherein the lid and the base form a volume for receiving the hair and wherein at least the bottom of the base and an indented upper portion of the lid each include a plurality of openings to allow flow of air and liquids through the case; and a stand, the stand comprising a base; a center piece extending upward from the base, the center piece configured to receive the one or more cases thereon; and a heating element.

Handheld Motorized Hair Styling Device
The handheld motorized hair styling device is a battery-operated, motorized, hair styling tool that produces a styled pattern of curls, twists, and/or coils in hair. The handheld motorized hair styling device creates the styled pattern by moving a contoured styling pad against the hair in a roto-linear motion. The speed and direction of the roto-linear motion may be changed using controls on the handheld motorized hair styling device. The styling pad may be removed and replaced and the battery is rechargeable.

The invention relates to a device for shaping and styling the hairs, and specifically for forming a so-called ponytail, as well as to the use of the device in accordance with the invention for shaping and styling hairs and forming a hair-style, and a method for forming a hairstyle, and more specifically, a pony tail.
The hairstyling device (1) in accordance with the invention particularly serves for shaping a so-called ponytail, and has an essentially rotationally symmetrical base body (10), the base body being provided with an attachment surface (20) at a front surface thereof, the attachment surface being meant for mounting over the head of a person to be hair-dressed. Further, the device includes a shaft (30), having longitudinal grooves (40) provided on its surface. The longitudinal grooves (40) extend over the surface in such a manner that at least one component of their extension direction lies in the longitudinal direction (11) of the base body (10). Further, the shaft is formed concavely in its longitudinal section, on a sectionalized basis.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL QUICK HAIR CURLING AND STRAIGHTENING DEVICE
A multifunctional quick hair curling and straightening device comprises a handle (1), an upper holding arm (2), and a lower holding arm (3). The handle (1) is provided with an air inlet end (11) and an air outlet end (12). The lower holding arm (3) is fixedly disposed at the air outlet end (12). A tail end of the upper holding arm (2) is hinged to a tail end of the lower holding arm (3). The upper holding arm (2) and the lower holding arm (3) are provided with a first heating plate (21) and a second heating plate (31), respectively. An air blowing mechanism (13) is disposed in the handle (1). An air blowing port of the air blowing mechanism (13) directly faces the tail ends of the upper holding arm (2) and the lower holding arm (3). Outer surfaces of the upper holding arm (2) and the lower holding arm (3) are each provided with a plurality of air grooves (5) in a circumferential direction. Air blown from the air blowing mechanism (13) sequentially flows through the air blowing port, the air outlet end (12) and the plurality of air grooves (5). The invention can achieve hair straightening and quick hair curling. The newly heated and softened hair during hair curling can be promptly set by means of rapid air cooling, thereby achieving the purpose of quick hair curling.
Hair styling apparatus
A hair styling apparatus including a first and a second arm moveable between a closed position in which a contacting surface of the first arm is adjacent a contacting surface of the second arm and an open position in which the contacting surfaces of each arm are spaced apart, whereby the contacting surfaces of each arm have complementary profiles so that, in use, a section of hair is clamped between the contacting surfaces when the arms are in the closed position, and where a heating zone on at least one of the contacting surfaces is provided to heat the section of hair between the contacting surfaces, a cooling zone on at least one of the contacting surfaces is provided for cooling the section of hair after the section of hair has been heated, and the cooling zone is curved whereby, in use, as the hair styling apparatus is moved along the section of hair in a generally linear fashion, the section of hair is curled.

The invention also relates to a process for straightening keratin fibers, especially the hair, using the compounds of formulae (I) and (II) with a straightening step using a straightening iron at a temperature of at least 150° C., preferably ranging from 150 to 250° C.
