Variable camshaft timing valve assembly
A valve assembly that can be employed in a variable camshaft timing (VCT) phaser assembly. The valve assembly includes a metal sleeve and a check valve. The check valve, in an implementation, has an integral construction with the metal sleeve. The integral construction has multiple designs, one of which includes an overmolded construction of the check valve with the metal sleeve. The valve assembly can also include a valve housing which, in the implementation of the VCT phaser assembly, is a center bolt.
FILM FORMING METHOD
A film forming method forms a coating film on a workpiece having at least two film-deposited portions which are not continuous with each other by moving a nozzle of a cold spray device relative to each other along a continuous movement trajectory. The movement trajectory includes at least two trajectories corresponding to the film-deposited portions and a connecting trajectory linking the trajectories of the film-deposited portions. The film-deposited portions are formed by continuously spraying a raw material powder from the nozzle by cold spraying to form a coating film on each of the plurality of film-deposited portions. A turnback point of the spraying is set on the connecting trajectory where a relative speed between the workpiece and the nozzle decreases in the movement trajectory.
NI-BASED ALLOY AND VALVE
The present disclosure provides a Ni-based alloy and a valve made of the same. The Ni-based alloy includes, on a weight basis: about 14%-17% Cr, about 4%-6% Al, about 1.0%-1.5% Ti, about 8%-11% Co, about 6%-9% W, about 0.5%-1.5% Ta, no more than about 0.25% Fe, about 0-2.0% Mo, about 0.07%-0.18% C, about 0.01%-0.03% Zr, about 0.005%-0.015% B, a balance of Ni, and incidental impurities. The Ni-based alloy, when used to fabricate engine valves, may significantly improve the corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance of the engine vales. The engine valves may also possess other desirable properties, such as high fatigue strength, high tensile strength and good weldability. The engine valves may also have extended useable life. The cost for manufacturing such engine valves may also be reduced.
JOINING DEVICE FOR JOINING COMPONENTS ON A SHAFT
A joining device for joining components on a shaft, e.g., for joining camshaft components on a camshaft tube, is disclosed. The joining device includes a joining device body composed of a material with a heat expansion coefficient that is lower than 10.0 μm/m° C. The heat expansion coefficient of the joining device is smaller than that of the components and/or the shaft.
Engine controller and engine control method
An engine controller calculates a pulsation correction value based on actuation states of an air bypass valve (ABV) and a wastegate valve (WGV) that change the shape of intake and exhaust flow passages of an exhaust turbocharger. The pulsation correction value is used to compensate for an output error of an airflow meter caused by intake pulsation. The engine controller also calculates a fuel injection amount of an injector, based on an output of the airflow meter that has been corrected based on the pulsation correction value.
Method of improving a corrosion protection of a hollow shaft
A method for improving a corrosion protection of a hollow shaft may include introducing a lance into the hollow shaft, and cleaning and expelling a liquid from an inside of the hollow shaft via spraying a gas from the lance. The method may also include applying a corrosion protection medium onto an inner lateral surface of the hollow shaft at least in certain regions, and closing off the hollow shaft.
Ni-based alloy, and Ni-based alloy product and methods for producing the same
The present invention relates to an Ni-based alloy which is excellent in terms of wear resistance and high-temperature corrosion resistance and which includes 0.3≤C≤1.0 mass %, 36.0≤Cr≤50.0 mass %, and 3.0≤Al≤7.0 mass %, with the balance being Ni and unavoidable impurities, and relates to an Ni-based alloy product made of the Ni-based alloy according to the present invention, and methods for producing the Ni-based alloy product.
Method of manufacture and design of cast-in-place valve seats
A cylinder head having a cast-in-place valve seat for an automobile vehicle includes a valve seat having an inner wall. At least one retaining feature integrally and homogeneously extends from the inner wall. The valve seat when positioned into a casting mold has the at least one retaining feature assisting in retaining the valve seat in the casting mold. A metal in a molten form is received in the casting mold. A cast component formed after cooling of the metal has the valve seat cast-in-place.
VARIABLE CAMSHAFT TIMING ASSEMBLY WITH DEFORMABLE EXTENSION
A variable camshaft timing (VCT) assembly includes a rotor having a hub from which one or more vanes extend radially outwardly; and a stator having a stator cavity that receives the rotor and permits the rotor to rotate relative to the stator about an axis of rotation, wherein the stator includes a deformable extension that regulates a distance between the stator and another component of the VCT assembly.
Valve seat ring
The invention relates to a highly heat conductive valve seat ring (1) comprising a carrier layer (2) and a functional layer (3), wherein the carrier layer (2) consists of a solidified copper matrix containing 0.10 to 20% w/w of a solidifying component and the functional layer (3) consists of a solidified copper matrix which further contains, based on the copper matrix, 5 to 35% w/w of one or more hard phases.
