20220381167 · 2022-12-01 ·

A lubricant pan for a vehicle includes a receiving region in which a lubricant is at least temporarily receivable, a first wall element, and a second wall element. A temperature-control channel is disposed between the first wall element and the second wall element and a temperature-control medium is flowable through the temperature-control channel. A core that is porous and permeable to the temperature-control medium is disposed in the temperature-control channel between the first wall element and the second wall element. The temperature-control medium is introducible into the temperature-control channel via a first connector and the temperature-control medium is dischargable from the temperature-control channel via a second connector.

MAINTAINING OIL PRESSURE DURING CYLINDER DEACTIVATION OPERATION

Systems, devices, and methods are disclosed that during cylinder deactivation, including skipfire, at low engines speeds and low engine loads maintain adequate oil pressure of valvetrain components or hardware required for CDA and/or skipfire operation.

Heat exchanger system

The invention relates to a heat exchanger system, in particular for connection to an internal combustion engine, preferably of a motor vehicle, comprising at least one heat exchanger module, in particular oil-water heat exchanger module (10), and a layer heating module (11), which is mounted or mountable on the heat exchanger module, wherein the layer heating module (11) comprises a substrate, in particular a carrier plate (12), and an electric heating coating (13) applied to the substrate, in particular to the carrier plate (12).

Multi-function oil tank

An oil distribution system uses an oil storage container to contain an air/oil separation unit, a heat exchanger, and an oil reservoir. The functions of oil storage, air/oil separation, and cooling are integrated in the container. Hot aerated oil enters the container at an air/oil separation unit. The air/oil separator deposits hot de-aerated oil into the oil reservoir. The oil reservoir transfers hot de-aerated oil to conduits in a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger uses fuel to cool the oil and warm the fuel. Cooled de-aerated oil is provided to a mechanical device for lubrication and warmed fuel is provided to power an engine. The container may alternatively receive hot aerated oil into the conduits in the heat exchanger. Cooled aerated oil is delivered to the air/oil separation unit to deposit cooled de-aerated oil into the reservoir. Cooled de-aerated oil is pumped to a mechanical device to provide lubrication.

Engine

An engine includes: a cylinder block in which a cooling water passage is formed; an oil cooler accommodated in an accommodation part provided in the cooling water passage and having a plurality of cores for cooling an engine oil; a first oil pipe and a second oil pipe configured to support an oil inflow port and an oil ejection port of each of the cores; a cooling water inflow port provided in a lower portion of one end portion of the accommodation part relative to a front-and-rear direction; a cooling water outflow port provided in an upper portion of the accommodation part; and a cooling water inflow passage having an inclined portion inclined downward and connecting to the cooling water inflow port.

Engine

An engine is disclosed having a water cooling system allowing efficient cooling of the exhaust valves to prevent temperature gradients from building in the engine. Water is therefore pumped through the engine though first and second water cooling cores which discharge through the head. A water manifold is positioned over the discharge opening and includes couplings for the radiator supply, radiator return, water pump supply, oil cooler supply and oil cooler return. The engine has separate chambers to isolate the pistons and cylinders, and reed valves cover the chambers and allow the blow-by gases and oil to enter the oil pan during the power stroke of the engine cycle.

Quick oil change filter and assembly

A filtration system includes a filter housing and a filter cartridge. The filter housing includes a base and a cover removably coupled to the base. The cover includes a retainer. The filter cartridge has a longitudinal axis and is movable between an installed position within the filter housing and an uninstalled position outside the filter housing. The filter cartridge includes a top endplate including at least one protrusion extending upwardly away from the top endplate. The protrusion includes a tab extending radially outward from the protrusion that is structured to interact with the retainer to removably couple the filter cartridge to the cover. The filter cartridge further includes a bottom endplate and a filter media extending axially between the top endplate and the bottom endplate.
