A hair styling appliance is described having a pair of electrodes, and a drive unit for applying an alternating voltage to the electrodes to heat dielectrically hair located between the electrodes. The drive unit includes a voltage source inverter for generating the alternating voltage.
Hair styling aid
A hair styling aid, in particular for curling hair, is described. The hair styling aid includes a handle and a housing connected to the handle, the housing having: guide means for receiving a length of hair to be styled, the guide means being provided by an aperture in the housing through which the length of hair is admitted into the housing in use; a rotatable element in the housing, rotatable relative to the guide means; a motor for rotating the rotatable element in a clockwise direction or in an anticlockwise direction; and an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element; wherein the rotatable element has two hair-pushing surfaces, one of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated clockwise and the other of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated anticlockwise in use.
Hair styling aid
A hair styling aid, in particular for curling hair, is described. The hair styling aid includes a handle and a housing connected to the handle, the housing having: guide means for receiving a length of hair to be styled, the guide means being provided by an aperture in the housing through which the length of hair is admitted into the housing in use; a rotatable element in the housing, rotatable relative to the guide means; a motor for rotating the rotatable element in a clockwise direction or in an anticlockwise direction; and an elongate member around which, in use, the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element; wherein the rotatable element has two hair-pushing surfaces, one of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated clockwise and the other of the hair-pushing surfaces being oriented for pushing hair when the element is rotated anticlockwise in use.
ENHANCED HAIR PRODUCT APPLICATION WITH CONCURRENT STYLING
Embodiments of hair care apparatus and methods are provided generally comprising a location to provision hair care product, an applicator and a manipulator configured to enable concurrent product application and hair manipulation, and may comprise a product heater, configured to heat product provisioned therein, or be configured for use with an external heating source such as a microwave oven, and provide application of heated product at temperatures both safe for hair health and enhanced absorption. Apparatus may comprise a source of pressure, such as a pump or piston, to generate hair product flow through an applicator, and may be configured to receive product in user fillable or prepackaged product cartridges usable in the apparatus, a product chamber within the apparatus or a removable product reservoir useable in the apparatus. An apparatus may further be configured to support a plurality of manipulators, active applicators and passive applicators.
ENHANCED HAIR PRODUCT APPLICATION WITH CONCURRENT STYLING

HAIR STYLING AID
A hair styling aid for curling hair is described, including a housing, guide means comprising a slot in a wall of the housing for receiving a length of hair to be styled, a rotatable element rotatable clockwise or anticlockwise relative to the housing and the guide means, to form curls, and a heated elongate member around which the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element, in use. The housing surrounds a part of the elongate member to form a chamber between the housing wall(s) and the elongate member, the housing extending from and being integral with a handle. The rotatable element is rotatable relative to or with the elongate member, having a predefined starting position to which it is automatically returned after use. The housing has a longitudinal axis and the slot is parallel with the longitudinal axis of the housing.
HAIR STYLING AID
A hair styling aid for curling hair is described, including a housing, guide means comprising a slot in a wall of the housing for receiving a length of hair to be styled, a rotatable element rotatable clockwise or anticlockwise relative to the housing and the guide means, to form curls, and a heated elongate member around which the length of hair is wound by the rotatable element, in use. The housing surrounds a part of the elongate member to form a chamber between the housing wall(s) and the elongate member, the housing extending from and being integral with a handle. The rotatable element is rotatable relative to or with the elongate member, having a predefined starting position to which it is automatically returned after use. The housing has a longitudinal axis and the slot is parallel with the longitudinal axis of the housing.
Hand held appliance
A housing and a power cable for supplying power to components within the housing wherein the power cable is attached to the appliance via a rotatable connection, the rotatable connection comprising a male connector having two longitudinally spaced connectors separated by a separator and a female connector comprising two longitudinally spaced receptacles. The two longitudinally spaced receptacles may be substantially identical and may be shaped to receive the longitudinally spaced connectors and may have a base portion and two upstanding portions forming a U-shape. The two upstanding portions may have a first straight section that extends from the base portion and may have a second section which extends from the first section and is adapted to receive a longitudinally spaced connector and may have a third section which extends from the second section and provides an opening into which a longitudinally spaced connector can be inserted.
Hand held appliance
A housing and a power cable for supplying power to components within the housing wherein the power cable is attached to the appliance via a rotatable connection, the rotatable connection comprising a male connector having two longitudinally spaced connectors separated by a separator and a female connector comprising two longitudinally spaced receptacles. The two longitudinally spaced receptacles may be substantially identical and may be shaped to receive the longitudinally spaced connectors and may have a base portion and two upstanding portions forming a U-shape. The two upstanding portions may have a first straight section that extends from the base portion and may have a second section which extends from the first section and is adapted to receive a longitudinally spaced connector and may have a third section which extends from the second section and provides an opening into which a longitudinally spaced connector can be inserted.
CURLING IRON WITH ADJUSTABLE HEATING ROD
An adjustable curling iron is disclosed comprising a handle assembly comprising a proximal end configured to receive a power supply; a distal end; and one or more switches mounted on the surface of the handle; a heating rod comprising a first end and a second end; a cylindrical housing extending from the first end toward the second end; a tip positioned at the second end; and a heating element connected to the power supply and extending within the cylindrical housing along its length; and a coupling assembly configured to engage the distal end of the handle assembly and the first end of the heating rod, and further configured to adjust the position of the heating rod from a first position, wherein a longitudinal axis of the heating rod is substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the handle assembly, to a second position, wherein an angle formed between the longitudinal axis of the heating rod and the longitudinal axis of the handle assembly is between 90 degrees and 150 degrees.
