Vent insert

A vent insert is disclosed for use with an automotive turbocharger system. The vent has a substantially cylindrical hollow tube with a first end for seating the vent and a second open end. The first end has a rim around an opening. The second end of the vent has an angled opening that faces away from the direction of the gas flow when the vent insert is operating within the turbocharger system. There are a plurality of protrusions extending outward from the outside surface of the vent to assist in keeping the vent insert in place in the turbocharger system.

PCV valve coupling structure

A PCV valve coupling structure that couples a PCV valve to an internal combustion engine is employed in the PCV valve used to adjust a gas flow area of a blow-by gas passage. Blow-by gas in the internal combustion engine flows to an intake system of the internal combustion engine. In the PCV valve coupling structure, the PCV valve is coupled to the internal combustion engine in a non-removable manner.

Blow-by gas recirculation device

A blow-by gas recirculation device that, while having a structure in which a passage for blow-by gas is in a head cover and an oil separator, an increase in size of an engine is suppressed and the risk of the freezing is mostly avoided by shortening the length of an external pipe for the blow-by gas. Therefore, the blow-by gas recirculation device guides blow-by gas from a crankcase to an intake passage through an in-cover gas passage formed inside a head cover. An oil separator that traps and removes oil from the blow-by gas is attached to the inside of the head cover. A pressure regulating valve is provided on the outlet side of the in-cover gas passage in the head cover. A separator outlet, which is an outlet for the blow-by gas in the oil separator, is overlapped on a blow-by gas inlet portion of the pressure regulating valve.

Pump driven crankcase ventilation system

Engines and engine systems for managing blow-by gas and/or moisture therein, and methods of operating the same are disclosed. The engine systems may include an air intake system including a compressor such as a turbocharge and a charge air cooler. The engine system may also include an engine such as combustion engine have a crankcase. During combustion blow-by gas may be captured in the crankcase and recirculated back to the air intake system. The blow-by gas may be diluted by additional air such as fresh air prior to being recirculated. The system may also include a pump to facilitate recirculation.

POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DIESEL ENGINE

A pollution control system for a diesel engine includes a PCV valve and an associated vacuum pump having an inlet and an outlet adapted to vent blow-by gas out from a crankcase to an intake manifold on the diesel engine. The vacuum pump associated with the PCV valve selectively modulates vacuum pressure to adjustably increase or decrease a fluid flow rate of blow-by gas venting from the crankcase through the PCV valve.

Systems, devices and methods for diagnosing malfunctioning in a crankcase ventilation (CCV) system are provided. A controller includes a processor and a memory storing instructions that cause the processor to: receive a plurality of pressure values including (i) a first pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing from a crankcase to a breather assembly of a system, (ii) a second pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a first tube coupled to the breather assembly, and (iii) a third pressure value indicative of a pressure of fluid flowing through a second tube coupled to the breather assembly; determine a pair of pressure differences based on the first pressure value, the second pressure value, and the third pressure value; and detect a malfunctioning in the CCV system based on the pair of pressure differences.
