Exhaust system for a vehicle
An exhaust system for a vehicle including a deep snow exhaust outlet defined by a driveline structural member of the vehicle. If the vehicle includes a turbo charger and an exhaust silencer, the turbocharger and the exhaust silencer are coupled together without exhaust piping therebetween.
Muffler and catalytic converters for combined heating and power systems
A combined heating and power system is configured to generate energy as well capture a large percentage of energy that would otherwise be lost using components, including heat transfer components, embedded within a vessel to transfer energy in the form of heat to liquid within the vessel.
Exhaust subsystem with fiber pipe and method of forming fiber pipe
A substantially metal-free exhaust subsystem includes an exterior housing formed of polymer; and a pipe formed of a layered fibers formed at least partially of glass, and bound by an inorganic binder. The fibers may be glass or ceramic, and may define micro-pores on the interior of the pipe that aid in absorbing acoustic energy, and thereby attenuating exhaust noise.
Two-passage exhaust system for an engine
An exhaust system includes a housing comprising a first housing portion and a second housing portion separated by a common wall. The first housing portion has a first exhaust passage therethrough. The first exhaust passage has a first inlet receiving exhaust gasses from a turbocharger. The second housing portion has a second exhaust passage therethrough. The second exhaust passage has a second inlet receiving gasses from an exhaust bypass valve. The first passage and the second passage are non-intersecting within the housing.
Turbocharger System For A Two-Stroke Engine
A turbocharger and method of controlling the same includes a turbine housing comprising an inlet and an outlet, turbine wheel coupled to a shaft. The turbine housing comprising a first scroll and a second scroll for fluidically coupling the inlet and the turbine wheel. The first scroll has a first end adjacent the inlet and a second end adjacent the turbine wheel. The second scroll has a third end adjacent the inlet and a fourth end adjacent the turbine wheel. An exhaust gas diverter valve is coupled to the turbine housing restricting flow into the first scroll or the second scroll.
CATALYTIC CONVERTER
A catalytic converter includes at least one heating element that is configured to disrupt the direction of flow of exhaust gases which contain harmful toxic gases and pollutants and aid in removing and/or reducing said toxic gases and pollutants.
Aftertreatment system including noise reducing components
An apparatus includes a housing defining an internal volume and structured to house aftertreatment component for reducing constituents of an exhaust gas. A noise reducing component is disposed within the internal volume and structured to extend around at least a portion of the aftertreatment component.
Vehicle
A vehicle comprises an internal combustion engine including an engine body and a catalyst device and a carbon dioxide recovery device recovering carbon dioxide contained in the exhaust is provided. The engine body, catalyst device, and carbon dioxide recovery device are mounted in the vehicle so that relationships X1>X2 and X2>X3 stand where a distance from a mounting position of the engine body to a mounting position of the carbon dioxide recovery device is X1, a distance from a mounting position of the catalyst device to the mounting position of the carbon dioxide recovery device is X2, and a distance from a mounting position of the engine body to a mounting position of the catalyst device is X3.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LOW CO EMISSION ENGINE
In one aspect, a system is provided and includes an engine including an exhaust valve, an exhaust manifold downstream of the exhaust valve and a muffler downstream of the exhaust manifold. The system also includes a catalyst positioned downstream of the exhaust valve.
