Exhaust back pressure and temperature monitoring transport refrigiration unit
A transport refrigeration unit (TRU) is provided and includes a power generation unit, a catalytic element, a tubular element fluidly interposed between the power generation unit and the catalytic element and a control System. The control System is disposed and configured to control operations of the power generation unit in accordance with readings of sensed characteristics of fluid flows between the power generation unit and the catalytic element.
Self-adaptive oil spraying control system and method for biodiesel engine
The disclosure relates to a self-adaptive oil spraying control system and method for a biodiesel engine. The control system includes an exhaust pipe, a gas sensor, a control module and an oil sprayer, wherein the exhaust pipe is connected to the oil sprayer, the gas sensor is mounted in the exhaust pipe, and the gas sensor and the oil sprayer are connected to the control module respectively. According to the control method, a main spray advance angle of the engine is subjected to closed-loop control directly through comparison between an idling steady state NO.sub.x emission signal and an idling steady state NO.sub.x emission value of pure diesel when the engine uses the biodiesel, so that emission of NO.sub.x in the exhaust is reduced. Compared with the prior art, the disclosure has the advantages of no need of detecting a biodiesel ratio, high efficiency, good effect and the like.
Vehicle exhaust and air-circulation system for cold start
A vehicle includes an engine having an intake manifold and an exhaust manifold. An exhaust system is connected to the exhaust manifold and has an aftertreatment device. The aftertreatment device has a body defining inlet and outlet cones, a heating element, and a catalyst disposed in the body between the cones. An air-circulation system has conduit extending from downstream of the catalyst to the intake manifold and an air-circulation device configured to circulate air from the outlet cone, through the conduit to the intake manifold, through the engine, to the inlet cone, and through the aftertreatment device.
CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A control device is applied to an internal combustion engine equipped with an electric heating catalyst system provided with an EHC. The control device executes a preheating process to warm up an exhaust gas reduction catalyst prior to a start of the internal combustion engine by supplying electric power to the EHC, when the control device determines that a temperature of the exhaust gas reduction catalyst is lower than an activation temperature. The control device executes a determination process for determining whether water is adhered to a catalyst carrier. The control device starts the internal combustion engine without executing the preheating process when the control device determines by the determination process that water is adhered to the catalyst carrier, even when the control device determines that the temperature of the exhaust gas reduction catalyst is lower than the activation temperature.
INCREASE AFTERTREATMENT TEMPERATURE DURING LIGHT LOAD OPERATION
A method includes: determining that at least one cylinder of a first cylinder bank of an engine is active; determining that at least one cylinder of a second cylinder bank of the engine is inactive; receiving an inlet temperature of a selective catalytic reduction system; comparing the inlet temperature to a temperature setpoint; and adjusting at least one of a first exhaust manifold pressure setpoint for the first cylinder bank or a second exhaust manifold pressure setpoint for the second cylinder bank based on the comparison.

Control system for hybrid vehicle
A control system for a hybrid vehicle that reduces a change in an engine torque when warming a catalyst. The hybrid vehicle comprises a catalyst that purifies exhaust gas, a first motor, a differential mechanism having a plurality of rotary elements, and an engagement device that selectively connects the first motor to an engine. A controller is configured to determine whether it is necessary to warm the catalyst, and disengage the engagement device while retarding an ignition timing of the engine when it is necessary to warm the purifying device.
METHODS FOR RE-COMBUSTION IN ENGINES
Methods and systems are provided for re-combustion of exhaust in a cylinder of a multi-cylinder engine in order to increase the temperature of the exhaust for enhancing catalytic conversion within the multi-cylinder engine. In one example, a method may include expelling combusted gases from the cylinder into an intake manifold via an intake valve during an exhaust stroke, in order to rebreathe in the combusted gases from the intake manifold via the intake valve in a subsequent intake stroke.
