OUTLET PASSAGE FOR AFTERTREATMENT SENSOR
An outlet assembly for an aftertreatment system comprises an outlet conduit configured to receive an exhaust gas from the aftertreatment system. The outlet conduit defines a first aperture through a sidewall thereof. An outlet passage is disposed within the outlet conduit. The outlet passage comprises a first end facing an upstream side of the outlet conduit and a second end located downstream from the first end. The second end is fluidly coupled to the first aperture. A hole is defined through an outlet passage sidewall at a radial location that is proximate to the sidewall of the outlet conduit. The hole is configured to allow a sensor to be inserted therethrough into a flow path defined by the outlet passage. The outlet passage is configured to receive a portion of the exhaust gas from the outlet conduit such that the sensor is exposed to the portion of the exhaust gas.
Vehicle control device, exhaust gas analysis system, vehicle control program, and vehicle control method for vehicle tests in which a vehicle is contained in a soak chamber prior to testing
The present invention makes it possible to provide temperature traceability for a test vehicle. A vehicle control device controls temperature information for a test vehicle and includes a peripheral temperature acquisition unit that acquires a peripheral temperature of a test vehicle from a first temperature sensor that is provided in a soak chamber where the test vehicle is stored or in a test chamber where the test vehicle is tested, a position information acquisition unit that acquires position information for the test vehicle, and a recording unit that associates the peripheral temperature of the test vehicle with the position information for that test vehicle and records the association.
ADJUST CONTROL STRATEGY BASED ON FAULT EVENTS COMBINED WITH PREDICTIVE DATA
A method for prevention of fault events on vehicles including: acquiring predictive data related to predictive events for a vehicle; processing the predictive data with a vehicle performance model adapted to relate specific predictive events to specific vehicle performance events; and adjusting a control strategy for the vehicle based on an outcome of the processing to at least reduce the risk that a specific vehicle performance event occurs when the vehicle reaches a corresponding specific predictive event.
Controller and control method for internal combustion engine
A controller is configured to perform a process of obtaining an exhaust pressure upstream of a filter inside an exhaust passage and an intake air amount detected by an air flowmeter, when the filter in which a deposition amount of particulate matter is a specified amount is referred to as a reference filter, a calculation process of calculating an exhaust pressure rate that indicates a ratio of the obtained exhaust pressure to an exhaust pressure at the reference filter for the obtained intake air amount, and a setting process of setting the exhaust pressure rate that is maintained at a specific value during engine operation.
Onboard Device And Method For Checking DEF Quality
The present invention pertains an onboard device for checking the quality of DEF in a work machine, comprising a flow channel configured to fluidly connect a DEF inlet with a DEF tank. The flow channel comprises a DQS configured to be brought into contact with DEF passing through the flow channel. The present invention also pertains to a method of checking the quality of DEF comprising the steps of tilling DEF into a flow channel configured to fluidly connect a DEF inlet with a DEF tank; and checking, by means of a DQS, the quality of the DEF in the flow channel,
AFTERTREATMENT HEATER POWER ELECTRONICS
Systems include a prime mover that generates power for a mobile vehicle; a power converter that receives a portion of the generated power, and provides configured electrical power to an aftertreatment heater device configured to selectively heat an exhaust fluid of the prime mover; at least one aftertreatment component positioned downstream of the aftertreatment heater device, and configured to treat a constituent of the exhaust fluid; and a controller including an operating conditions circuit structured to interpret an operating parameter of one of the power converter, the aftertreatment heater device, the prime mover, or the exhaust fluid; a heater management circuit that determines a heating power value in response to the operating parameter; and a heater control circuit that provides a heating command in response to the heating power value; and wherein the power converter is responsive to the heating command to heat the exhaust fluid of the prime mover.
Method for determining the loading of a soot filter
The invention relates to a method for determining a loading of a soot filter with soot particles from an exhaust gas mass flow of an internal combustion engine in a motor vehicle, a control device for an internal combustion engine having a soot filter, and a computer program product for carrying out the method. In the first step 100 of the method a characteristic curve for the relationship between the exhaust gas mass flow, exhaust gas temperature, ambient pressure, and pressure drop across the soot filter without loading is determined; in the second step 200 a second exhaust gas mass flow and a second pressure drop that occurs during loading of the soot filter are determined; in the third step 300, from the characteristic curve the first pressure drop is determined for which the first and second exhaust gas mass flows have the same value; in the fourth step 400 an estimated value for the loading of the soot filter is computed via a real-time parameter estimation, preferably by use of the gradient method, based on the previously determined parameters. The method allows a reliable determination of the instantaneous loading of a particulate filter, regardless of the type of measuring signals used in each case for characterizing the loading behavior of the soot filter.
Method and Apparatus for Steady State and Transient Generation of NO2 and NO for Use with Burner-Based Exhaust Replication Systems
This invention relates to exhaust replication systems and methods, such as systems for testing automotive exhaust aftertreatment devices. More particularly, methods for steady state and transient generation and flow of NO.sub.2 and/or NO from a fluid such as nitric acid for introduction into the burner-based exhaust replication system.

Method for diagnosing the dynamics of a sensor in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of internal combustion engines
A method for diagnosing the dynamics of a sensor in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of internal combustion engines, as well as a computer program, a computer program product and a corresponding vehicle. It is provided that a corresponding sensor for measuring a pressure signal in the fresh air or exhaust gas tract of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, which is coupled with a control and computing unit, is checked with respect to its dynamic characteristics. Measured values of differing frequency ranges are measured, these being used as the basis for a calculation of a characteristic. After the calculation, the characteristic is compared with a threshold value stored in a user-defined manner in the control and computing unit. If the calculated characteristic deviates from the threshold value, at least one triggering signal is triggered, so that an impaired sensor dynamic of the sensor is displayed.
