20180213917 · 2018-08-02 ·

A hair treatment apparatus includes a base and a sidewall in direct contact with and extending from the base. The base and sidewall define a cavity configured for receiving a liquid. The hair treatment apparatus further includes a lid coupled to the sidewall opposite to the base, the lid defining an adjustable aperture configured for receiving a portion of hair for treatment in the liquid. The lid includes a first ring, a plurality of plates, and a second ring. The first ring is configured to releasably engage the sidewall and define a central axis. The plurality of plates extend from the first ring toward an aperture, each of the plurality of plates includes a pin. The second ring defines a plurality of slots to receive the pins. Rotation of the second ring causes the plurality of plates to extend toward the longitudinal axis to reduce the diameter of the aperture.

Systems and methods for unraveling braids of real/natural hair and/or synthetic braid extensions, or a combination thereof, work from the bottom of the braid up using one or more tines automated to repetitively penetrate the braid and pull through and down it to unravel it. The systems and methods may unravel braid/entanglements faster than could otherwise be done manually by hand.

A method for the cutting of hair, in particular for the cutting of human head hair, wherein a slice of hair is taken up and is guided by a hand, namely the guide hand, with the slice of hair being pinched between two fingers, namely the guide fingers of the guide hand, and wherein the slice of hair is cut along the guide fingers using a cutting device that is actuated by another hand, namely the cutting hand. The guide hand is moved continuously or step-wise after the taking up of the slice of hair and the cutting of the slice of hair takes place at least partially during the movement of the guide hand or, in the case of step-wise movement, during and/or between the movement steps.

METHODS FOR TREATING RELAXED HAIR
20180125768 · 2018-05-10 ·

Methods and kits for treating hair or preventing damage in the relaxing of hair are disclosed herein. Hair that is damaged during a relaxing treatment with hydroxide-containing relaxing agents, can be treated with formulations containing one or more active agents. The active agent formulations can be applied simultaneously with the hair relaxing formulation, or optionally applied immediately following application of the relaxing formulation, to reduce damage and breakage. Use of the active agent formulation along with a relaxing treatment can be used to control the level of curl achieved or retained in the relaxed hair, as compared to the natural amount of curl in the untreated hair.
