A hair styling device, a method of making such a hair styling device, and methods of styling hair and instructing others to style hair using such a hair styling device are provided. The hair styling device containing two configurations of stable mechanical shapes, such that the hair styling device is capable of physical transformation to hold and retain a bundle of receiving hair in a desired hair style by inserting hair into its formed loop and further applying force to transform it from a first linear stable shape to a second generally cylindrical shape.

A hair ornament comprises a light source, a controller, and a plurality of filaments configured to emit light through their side walls. The controller controls the light source based at least in part on a measurement from a sensor. A control device comprises a communications interface and a sensor. It optionally comprises a processor for generating a control signal based on a measurement signal from the sensor. Also disclosed is a method for controlling a hair ornament.

A light-transmissive filament is configured to emit light through its side wall. In a first segment, a first proportion of the light received by the segment is emitted through the side wall. In a second segment, a second, smaller proportion of the light received is emitted. A method of producing the light-transmissive filament is also provided.

According to one embodiment, a hair accessory includes a base and a curved hollow tube coupled to the base. The base is configured to be positioned against a head of a person. The curved hollow tube is configured to provide structural support to a portion of hair of the person gathered around the curved hollow tube. The curved hollow tube has a first end that is coupled directly to the base and a second end distally located from the base. The curved hollow tube includes a plurality of ridges positioned along a length of the curved hollow tube. Each of the plurality of ridges extends along a perimeter of the curved hollow tube.

Hair devices and methods which elongate curly hair by use of gravitational force, as the mass of the device weighs more than the hair section in order to transform curly hair into a wavy or straight coiffure. The device can be used as either a styling tool or an ornamental hair accessory that remains in the hair. The invented device is particularly advantageous for tightly coiled hair patterns of hair. The device can include a first and second curved metal form, each having a plurality of ventilation cut-outs and tab ends which allow each of the forms to attach to one another in an oval configuration, which can be wrapped about a hair bundle, or in which a hair bundle can be inserted therein. Concave curved recesses in the plates can allow for another pair of curved plates that forms a second oval shape to be attached to each other by pin type members.

A child-proof hair bead is a hairstyling hair bead that is safe for a child to wear through their hair. The child-proof hair bead includes a bead body, a hair-receiving channel, and a lining. The hair-receiving channel traverses through the bead body allowing a child's hair to be drawn through the bead body. The lining is connected across an inner channel surface of the bead body and is positioned around the hair-receiving channel, which prevents a child's hair from making direct contact with the inner channel surface of the bead body. The lining is consequently made of a piece of friction-reducing fabric (e.g., silk in a satin-weave structure). The bead body is made of an elastic material (e.g., a kind of rubber) so that the bead body does not break or crack if the bead body experiences a physical impact.

A reinforced hair holder, includes a core body having a first core end and a second core end, a cover body having a first cover end and a second cover end, the cover body coupled to the core body along a length of the hair holder and a coupling member that is adapted to couple the first core end and the first cover end to the second core end and the second cover end, respectively. The hair holder provides improved durability that reduces the occurrence of elastic fatigue and breakage to allow a user to limit the frequency of disposal and replacement of a hair holder for the user.

A hair claw clip includes a first jaw and a second jaw that is pivotally connected to the first jaw at a hinge. The first and second jaw each has a indicia portion monolithically formed as an integral part of the respective first and second jaw. The indicia portion has at least one opening through the respective first and second jaw that forms part of a character that can be read from a side of the respective first and second jaw. Each first and second jaw further includes a jaw body forming a lower part of the indicia portion and a handle portion that extends outward from the jaw body at an angle to the jaw body. The handle portion forms an upper part of the indicia portion. The hinge is located between the handle portions of the first and second jaws. The first and second jaws and the indicia portion share an outermost first terminal edge and an outermost second terminal edge opposite from the first terminal edge. The handle portion and upper part of the indicia portion extend across entire widths of the first and second jaws from the outermost first terminal edge to the outermost second terminal edge.

A shaft, apparatus, and method for threading a beader tool with hair beads are disclosed. In one embodiment of the apparatus, multiple silos form an array with each silo being sized to allow the passage of a beader tool while preventing hair beads from escaping. The interior of each silo is tailored to accommodate a stack of hair beads, with the height of the silos being sufficient to house at least the shaft of the beader tool. A support structure secures the array of silos in an upward orientation. This support structure takes the form of a box, which defines a chamber beneath the array of silos. The chamber is designed with a height that can accommodate at least a loop of the beader tool and includes a drawer for additional utility. This apparatus presents a practical and innovative solution for simplifying the process of threading hair beads.

A decorative hair accessory has a hinged, substantially cylindrical attachment base assembly and at least one interchangeable decorative component. The base assembly includes a curved, elongated first clasp element and a curved, elongated second clasp element forming a hinge along a first longitudinal edge on the first clasp element and a second longitudinal edge on the second clasp element. The first clasp element has a first latching element along a third longitudinal edge and the second clasp element has a second latching element along a fourth longitudinal edge. The first latching element and the second latching element mate. At least one of the first clasp element and the second clasp element have a way to attach on an exterior surface. The decorative component has a second way to attach. The first and the second way to attach couple together. The decorative component has indicia opposite the second way to attach.
