Compact hair dryer and removable barrel extension
A compact hair dryer comprising a main body having a front and a rear portion. The front portion comprising a first duct surrounding a second duct, air flow passing through the second duct being heated by a heating means, air flow passing through the space between the first and second ducts being insulated from the heated air flow in the second duct. The second duct is shaped like a truncated cone of revolution, wherein a distribution means is arranged at the base of the cone to determine the amount of air flow passing through the space between the first and second ducts. A barrel extension comprising at least one peripheral tube surrounding a central tube connectable to the outlet of the hair dryer. The second duct of the hair dryer, at the air outlet of the hair dryer, arranged to be connectable to the central tube of a barrel extension.

MOTOR
A motor includes a bearing holder for holding a bearing that rotatably supports a rotary shaft extending in the vertical direction, a bracket for holding the bearing holder, a circuit board having electronic components mounted thereon, and board fixing portions for fixing the circuit board to the bracket. The circuit board has a first region representing part of a mounting surface having the electronic components mounted thereon in the circumferential direction and a second region representing a region of the mounting surface other than the first region. The total weight of the electronic components mounted in the first region is greater than that in the second region. The number of the board fixing portions that fix the circuit board in the first region is greater than the number of the board fixing portions that fix the circuit board in the second region.
MOTOR AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
A motor includes a rotor including a rotary shaft that extends in the vertical direction, a stator that faces the rotor, a bearing for supporting the rotary shaft for rotation, a bearing holder for holding the bearing, a bracket for holding the bearing holder, and a circuit board having electronic components mounted thereon. The electronic components include a converter, an inverter, and a detection unit. The detection unit detects the rotation angle of the rotor on the basis of an induced voltage generated in the stator due to rotation of the rotor. The bracket includes a holding member that holds the lower end of the bearing holder. The circuit board is disposed under the holding member in the axial direction. The electronic components are disposed on the lower surface of the circuit board.
Air blower
An air blower includes an impeller, a motor and a blower housing. The blower housing includes a first housing member for receiving the motor and a second housing member for receiving the impeller. The first and second housing members are mounted to each other. Two opposed air outlets are formed at an end of the first housing member remote from the second housing member. Each air outlet is formed by an outwardly inclined cutout. The cutout is bounded by two inclined sides. An angle A formed by each inclined side and an axial direction of the blower is in the range from 0 to 45 degrees. Radial lines extending from one inclined side of one air outlet and the adjacent inclined side of the other air outlet form an angle B in the range from 15 to 45 degrees.

Hair dryer attachment
An attachment for a hair dryer that is movable between a first position and a second position in order to alter one or more characteristics of the airflow therethrough. In one embodiment, an internal sliding element is movable within an outer housing in order to alter the internal flow paths inside the housing. In a second embodiment, movable arms cause changes to the shape of an outer housing made of a flexible and resilient material. Motion of the arms between positions causes a change in the shape of the attachment outlet.
Hand held appliance
A hand held appliance, such as a hairdryer, includes a body, a duct, a fluid flow path extending through the duct from a first fluid inlet of the appliance to a first fluid outlet of the appliance. A primary fluid flow path extends from a second fluid inlet through which a primary fluid flow enters the appliance to a second fluid outlet. A fan unit is located in the primary fluid flow path for drawing fluid through the second fluid inlet. A filter is located in the primary fluid flow path. Fluid is drawn through the fluid flow path by fluid emitted from the second fluid outlet. A heater is provided in the body and extends at least partially along and around the duct.
