An air cleaner positioned above a cylinder head is connected to an intake port of the cylinder head through a connecting tube, a throttle device, and an insulator. An insulator attachment surface is formed in a rear-side wall of a cylinder head such that the insulator attachment surface is inclined to extend in a forward direction while extending upwardly. An insulator is formed in such an arc shape in a side view wherein a flow direction of air flowing inside the insulator is directed more in a forward direction as the air approaches the cylinder head. A throttle device having an intake passage thereof directed in a vertical direction is connected to the insulator. A connecting tube is formed to curve in such a shape that the connecting tube has its upstream end opened in a forward direction and is rounded outwardly in an obliquely rearward direction.

An engine may include an engine body. A piston assembly may be positioned at least partially within the engine body and including a first piston and a second piston. A connection member may be operably coupling the first piston to the second piston and causing the first piston and the second piston to move in conjunction with one another. A sled may be operably coupled with the connection member. A load member may be operably coupled with sled, the load member movable with the sled. A sensor system may be positioned through at least a portion of the engine body and operably coupled with the sled. The sensor system may include a transmitter configured to direct modulated emitted light into a sled chamber and a receiver configured to receive reflected light from the light source.

MOVEMENT LIMITING ASSEMBLY FOR A LINEAR ELECTRIC MACHINE

A linear electric machine includes at least one shaft and a stator assembly supporting the at least one shaft. The stator assembly includes a magnet carrier supporting one or more magnets. The magnet carrier defines an inner cavity therein. The linear electric machine further includes a bearing assembly supporting an end of the at least one shaft. The bearing assembly includes a bearing housing and a bearing within the bearing housing. The linear electric machine also includes a movement limiting assembly at an interface between the magnet carrier and the stator assembly for limiting linear movement of the magnet carrier within the stator assembly.

Engine device

An engine includes a common rail attached to one side portion of a cylinder block that pivotally supports a crankshaft in a rotatable mariner, the one side portion extending along a crankshaft center, and the common rail being configured to supply a fuel to the engine. A flywheel housing that accommodates a flywheel that is rotated integrally with the crankshaft is disposed in one side portion out of opposite side portions of the cylinder block intersecting the one side portion. One end portion of the common rail is disposed above the flywheel housing.

A power unit includes an engine and a transmission mechanism, which is integrated with the engine, for transfer of power from the engine. The engine includes a crankshaft which converts a reciprocal motion of a piston to produce a rotary motion, a crankcase supporting the crankshaft, a cylinder extending from the crankcase so as to protrude in a reciprocating direction of the piston, and a cylinder head coupled to a protruding end of the cylinder. The transmission mechanism includes an output shaft arranged at one side of the crankshaft in an axial direction of the crankshaft to provide, as an output, rotational power from the crankshaft. The output shaft is positioned to a side of the crankshaft that faces the cylinder head with respect to the reciprocating direction and is positioned so as to overlap with the cylinder or the cylinder head when viewed in the axial direction.
