V-TYPE ENGINE, OUTBOARD MOTOR, AND SHIP
A V-type engine, an outboard motor, and a ship capable of restricting exposure of a catalyst to water. The engine includes cylinders where pistons operate are arranged in a V-shape, a crankshaft driven by driving of the pistons is disposed vertically, and exhaust pipes communicating with exhaust openings in the respective banks of a cylinder head and a catalyst holder that holds a catalyst in a merge portion where the exhaust pipes are merged in a site located on an upper side of the banks are included.

ENGINE
An engine (21) including a main fuel injection valve (79), a pilot fuel injection valve (82), a liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42), and a pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47). The main fuel injection valve (79) supplies liquid fuel from the liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) to a combustion chamber (110) during combustion in a diffusion combustion system. The pilot fuel injection valve (82) supplies pilot fuel from the pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47) to the combustion chamber (110) in order to ignite gaseous fuel during combustion in a premixed combustion system. The liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) is disposed at one side of an imaginary vertical plane (P1) including an axis of a crank shaft. The pilot fuel supply rail pipe (47) is disposed at the side of the imaginary vertical plane (P1) at which the liquid fuel supply rail pipe (42) is disposed.

ENGINE DEVICE
An engine including: an exhaust manifold (7) provided near one side surface of an engine; a turbocharger (60) having an exhaust-side inlet connected to the exhaust manifold; and a rocker-arm-chamber-integrated intake manifold (8) disposed on a cylinder head (5) and integrally including a rocker arm chamber (90) and an intake manifold (6). The intake manifold has a wall (101) dividing the rocker arm chamber provided near one side surface of the engine and the intake manifold provided near another side surface thereof to isolate the rocker arm chamber and the intake manifold from each other. The rocker arm chamber has, in its upper portion, a positive crankcase ventilation device protruding therefrom and returning blowby gas to an intake system. The positive crankcase ventilation device has a blowby-gas discharge port (67) connected with a gas conduit (68) through which blowby gas is delivered to an intake-side inlet of the turbocharger.
Engine, self-starter unit, and method for altering engine specifications
An engine is equipped with a starter motor which is attached to an engine main body and is configured to perform cranking of a crankshaft. The engine is further equipped with a battery pack (37). The battery pack is equipped with a lithium-based cell which is attached to the engine main body and which is configured to supply electric power which drives the starter motor.

Outboard motor
An outboard motor includes an engine, an engine cover with which the engine is covered, an intake pipe disposed between an outer surface of the engine and an inner surface of the engine cover, and a battery. The engine includes a piston that reciprocates rectilinearly and a crankshaft that rotates around a crankshaft axis extending in an up-down direction. The intake pipe is connected to a first outer surface of the engine along the crankshaft axis, and supplies air to the engine. The battery is disposed between a second outer surface of the engine, which is different than the first outer surface, and the inner surface of the engine cover.

ENGINE DEVICE
An engine including a common rail attached to one side portion of a cylinder block that pivotally supports a crankshaft in a rotatable mariner, the one side portion extending along a crankshaft center, and the common rail being configured to supply a fuel to the engine. A flywheel housing that accommodates a flywheel that is rotated integrally with the crankshaft is disposed in one side portion out of opposite side portions of the cylinder block intersecting the one side portion. One end portion of the common rail is disposed above the flywheel housing.
