A turbofan engine assembly including a compressor, an intermittent internal combustion engine having an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet of the compressor through at least one first passage of an intercooler, a turbine having an inlet in fluid communication with an outlet of the intermittent internal combustion engine, the turbine compounded with the intermittent internal combustion engine, a bypass duct surrounding the intermittent internal combustion engine, compressor and turbine, and a fan configured to propel air through the bypass duct and through an inlet of the compressor, wherein the intercooler is located in the bypass duct, the intercooler having at least one second passage in heat exchange relationship with the at least one first passage, the at least one second passage in fluid communication with the bypass duct.

The internal combustion engine comprises a valve control which is configured to close inlet valves of the internal combustion engine at Miller or Atkinson closing times. An electrified exhaust-gas turbocharger of the internal combustion engine comprises an electric machine which is operable selectively as a motor or generator. A control unit operates the electric machine of the electrified exhaust-gas turbocharger as a motor in a first load range of the internal combustion engine and as a generator in a second load range which corresponds to greater loads of the internal combustion engine than the first load range.

The turbocharger includes an operating state detection unit that detects an operating state of the turbocharger and a lubricant regulating unit configured to regulate the flow rate of the lubricant flowing through the lubricant supply line depending on the operating state.

TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM FOR A TWO-STROKE ENGINE
A turbocharger and method of controlling the same includes a turbine housing comprising an inlet and an outlet, turbine wheel coupled to a shaft. The turbine housing comprising a first scroll and a second scroll for fluidically coupling the inlet and the turbine wheel. The first scroll has a first end adjacent the inlet and a second end adjacent the turbine wheel. The second scroll has a third end adjacent the inlet and a fourth end adjacent the turbine wheel. An exhaust gas diverter valve is coupled to the turbine housing restricting flow into the first scroll or the second scroll.
TURBOCHARGER SYSTEM FOR A TWO-STROKE ENGINE
A turbocharger and method of controlling the same includes a turbine housing comprising an inlet and an outlet, turbine wheel coupled to a shaft. The turbine housing comprising a first scroll and a second scroll for fluidically coupling the inlet and the turbine wheel. The first scroll has a first end adjacent the inlet and a second end adjacent the turbine wheel. The second scroll has a third end adjacent the inlet and a fourth end adjacent the turbine wheel. An exhaust gas diverter valve is coupled to the turbine housing restricting flow into the first scroll or the second scroll.
Turbine
The invention relates to a turbine, in particular a combustion gas turbine, which drives a high-speed generator for generating electricity, said turbine having a high efficiency. The turbine has at least one combustion chamber (6), which is provided with a fuel injection means (7) and an ignition device (8) and which supplies the turbine with a combustion gas. An external compressor (3) is associated with the turbine. Said compressor has a separate electric drive and is not connected to the turbine by means of a drive shaft. Furthermore, at least two combustion chambers (5) are provided for discontinuous, pulsed combustion and supply of the turbine.
