WORK MACHINE FOR LESSENING DAMAGE RESULTING FROM AN OBJECT COMING INTO CONTACT WITH WORK PORTION
20200390028 · 2020-12-17 ·

A work machine determines, when a request to restart an engine is made, whether or not a reason indicated by stop information stored in a memory is a reason related to locking of the work portion. The machine sets an operation mode of the engine and a work portion to a safe mode if it determines that the reason indicated by the stop information is a reason related to locking of the work portion. The safe mode is an operation mode for lessening damage resulting from causing the engine and the work portion to work during the work portion locked or damage resulting from an object coming into contact with the work portion during the engine and the work portion working.

Tolerance and Wear Compensation of a Fuel Pump

A method determines an inflection point OP of a parameter profile i, n which is representative of a component tolerance and a state of wear of a fuel pump. The fuel pump is provided for a fuel supply system for use in a device equipped with an internal combustion engine. The device being a passenger car, utility vehicle and/or a stationary or mobile power generator.

Systems for supplying fuel to fuel-injected engines in gensets

Systems are disclosed for supplying fuel to fuel-injected gensets in a recreational vehicle. An apparatus includes a fuel injection system having a fuel reservoir and a first pump fluidly coupled to the first reservoir and structured to supply fuel to the fuel reservoir. The fuel injection system is further provided with a pressure sensor and a second pump. The second pump is fluidly coupled to the pressure sensor and structured to provide pressurized fuel from the fuel reservoir to one or more fuel injectors of an associated engine. The second pump is a variable speed fuel pump.

Garden tool

A garden tool includes a gasoline engine and a power source, the gasoline engine including a fuel supply system and an ignition system. The garden tool may further include a control system with at least one sensor used for collecting a working condition signal of the gasoline engine and a controller used for receiving the working condition signal and controlling the fuel supply system and/or the ignition system according to the working condition signal received. The power source may provide a power supply for the fuel supply system, the ignition system, and the control system through the controller.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING VEHICLE ENGINE STABILITY

Methods and systems are provided for conducting a diagnostic on a fuel tank isolation valve that regulates a flow of fuel vapors from a fuel tank to an evaporative emissions system. In one example, a method comprises determining whether the fuel tank isolation valve is stuck in a first open position or a second open position based on a time duration between commanding open a canister purge valve to direct fuel vapors to an engine, and an exhaust gas sensor indicating a rich air-fuel ratio. In this way, appropriate mitigating action may be taken in response to the fuel tank isolation valve being stuck in either the first open position or the second open position.

There are provided an intake pressure detecting means for detecting an intake pressure on more downstream side than a throttle valve in an intake passage to an engine, a rotational speed detecting means for detecting a rotational speed of an engine, an engine controlling means for controlling the engine to arrive at a target air-fuel ratio corresponding to the detected intake pressure and the detected engine rotational speed and an abnormality treating means for executing an engine stopping treatment to stop the engine if an intake pressure higher than a set pressure has been detected and an engine rotational speed higher than a set rotational speed has been detected, when an opening degree state detecting means detects that the throttle valve is under a fully closed or substantially fully closed state.

A START-UP METHOD FOR A VEHICLE WITH A HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM
20200332730 · 2020-10-22 · ·

Start-up method for heating a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) module in a hybrid propulsion system of a vehicle, comprising an electric motor operatively connected to an internal combustion engine producing exhaust gas, both electric motor and internal combustion engine being operable to power said vehicle, and said internal combustion engine being in fluid communication with an exhaust aftertreatment system having an exhaust passage and comprising the SCR module, said SCR module being disposed in said exhaust passage downstream of said engine and said electric motor, the method comprising the steps of: operating the engine in a start-up mode with a torque restriction on the engine, allowing the SCR module to convert NOx emission; supplying a surplus amount of a reducing agent to the exhaust gas at a position between the engine and the SCR module, the surplus amount of the reducing agent being larger than a required amount of reducing agent for converting NOx emission from the engine; heating said SCR module to a working temperature; and terminating the start-up mode, thereby terminating the torque restriction on the engine and the supply of the surplus amount of the reducing agent.

Adsorbent circulation for onboard octane on-demand and cetane on-demand

A vehicular propulsion system, a vehicular fuel system and a method of operating an internal combustion engine. A separation unit that makes up a part of the fuel system may selectively receive and separate at least a portion of onboard fuel and a flowable adsorbent in order to separate the fuel into octane-enhanced and cetane-enhanced fuel components. A controller may be used to determine a particular operating condition of the internal combustion engine such that the onboard fuel can be sent to one or more combustion chambers within the internal combustion engine without first passing through the separation unit during one operating condition, or instead to the separation unit in situations where the internal combustion engine may require an octane-rich or cetane-rich mixture in another operating condition.

Fuel pump system of hybrid vehicle

A fuel pump system of a hybrid vehicle is provided. The fuel pump system prevents a fuel pump from continuing to operate when fuel is exhausted, whereby the fuel pump may be damaged. The pressure of fuel is measured in response to exhaustion of fuel, and when the pressure of fuel is low, fuel is circulated within the fuel pump instead of being supplied to the engine side, thereby preventing the fuel pump from being stuck due to frictional heat.

Tank lid unit and fuel supply device

A primary metal terminal connects between a fuel pump and a drive circuit through a resin lid. A primary connecting point of the primary metal terminal connected to the drive circuit, is positioned around a drive control IC, and a primary exposed portion of the primary metal terminal, exposed to a receiving space of the resin lid is bent such that the primary exposed portion is resiliently deformable. A secondary metal terminal connects between an external circuit system and the drive circuit through the resin lid. A secondary connecting point of the secondary metal terminal connected to the drive circuit is positioned at a location that is further spaced from the drive control IC in comparison to the primary connecting point, and a secondary exposed portion of the secondary metal terminal exposed to the receiving space has a stiffness higher than a stiffness of the primary exposed portion.
