Carburetor supplemental fuel supply

A carburetor provides a supplemental fuel supply to an engine and includes a body, a fuel metering diaphragm and a fluid pump. The fuel metering diaphragm defines part of a fuel metering chamber and a reference chamber and has at least a portion that is movable relative to the body to increase and decrease the volume of the fuel metering chamber to control fuel flow in the fuel metering chamber. The fluid pump is carried by the carburetor or another component upstream of the carburetor and has an outlet in fluid communication with the metering reference chamber and an actuator arranged to discharge fluid through the outlet to increase the pressure within the metering reference chamber and thereby increase the fuel flow rate from the fuel metering chamber to the air-fuel passage to provide a supplemental fuel supply to the engine.

The present disclosure includes a system and method for regulating exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) in an engine. In one embodiment, the system may include a knock sensor coupled to the engine that sends a signal corresponding to at least one operating condition of the engine to a controller. The controller may estimate an amount of EGR gas administered to the engine and regulate the amount of EGR gas being administered to the engine when the estimated amount of EGR gas is not an effective amount.

Unidirectional fuel nozzle for improving fuel atomization in a carburetor or similar apparatus

The present invention generally relates to a method and device that enhances fuel atomization in a carburetor or a similar apparatus. Specifically, it introduces a unidirectional fuel nozzle that is designed to improve the atomization of fuel injected into the fuel-air mixing chamber of a combustion engine. The fuel nozzle comprises a cylindrical body with a plurality of perforations on one half and a plurality of dimples on the outer surface of the other half. Each dimple is designed with an air turbulator, which creates turbulence on the surface of the fuel nozzle in response to the air pressure, delaying the separation of the air from the surface of the fuel nozzle. As a result, fuel droplets break down further, improving fuel atomization. This enhances the combustion efficiency of the engine by allowing the fuel to mix with air more effectively.
