Fluid line assembly

A fluid line assembly, preferably for charge air to be supplied to an internal combustion engine, comprising a fluid conduit extending along a longitudinal axis which defines an axial direction for the passage of a fluid and comprising a sound attenuation assembly received in an axial receiving portion of the fluid conduit which comprises at least two piping components, said sound attenuation assembly at least contributing to an attenuation of sound propagated in the fluid. The invention provides that the connection of the at least two piping components of the axial receiving portion with one another, and the connection of the sound attenuation assembly with the axial receiving portion of the fluid conduit is free of adhesive and melted connections.

Gas intake system for a vehicle engine

The invention relates to a device for controlling the ingress of intake gases to an engine, notably an internal combustion vehicle engine comprising cylinders, said device taking the form of a compartmentalized guide piece (6), each compartment (9) comprising a main duct (4) and a secondary duct (5) for gas, characterized in that the control device comprises a multitude of modules (8) each one delimiting a main duct (4) and a secondary duct (5), and in that the modules (8) constitute separate components designed to be fitted together.

A supercharger (15) is provided with a bypass pathway (17). A backflow preventer (20) is provided to the air intake pathway (8) between an airflow meter (10) and the bypass pathway (17). The backflow preventer (20) has: a casing (41) formed by locally expanding the cross-sectional area of the air intake pathway; and an inner tube (42) substantially constructing a duct for the mainstream of air intake. The inner tube (42) is supported by a flange portion (50) and the downstream end (42a) opens within the casing (41). During backflow when the bypass pathway (17) opens, a portion of the intake air enters into an exit-side space section (55), and the flow is prevented by the flange portion (50). Consequently, reverse flow is suppressed.

Engine fluid line with flexible joint

A vehicle fluid line for transporting high and low pressure fluids of an engine includes a rigid pipe having opposing ends configured to fixedly couple with the engine. An adjustable joint divides a length of the rigid tube into first and second segments. The adjustable joint has a cylindrical housing coupled with the first segment and having an inner diameter. A stop feature protrudes from an outer diameter of the second segment and interfaces with the cylindrical housing to prevent disengagement of the second segment from the housing. An elastomeric grommet is seated between the inner and outer diameters and is configured to maintain a fluid seal that allows the second segment to rotate axially, pivot radially, and slide longitudinally within the cylindrical housing.

Filter element and air cleaner assembly

A filter element may include first and second pairs of opposing walls extending along a longitudinal axis of the filter element. The first and second pairs of opposing walls may create a flow passage between an inlet end and an outlet end of the filter element. The filter element may further include filter media configured to separate particulates from air flowing through the flow passage, and a wedge element associated with an exterior surface of at least one of the first pair of opposing walls. The wedge element may be configured to cooperate with an interior surface of a filter housing configured to receive the filter element.
