FUEL INJECTION CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

A fuel injection control device is applied to an internal combustion engine including a fuel injection valve and causes a valve body to be in a valve open state accompanying an energization of the fuel injection valve to inject fuel. The fuel injection control device acquires a dynamic parameter. The fuel injection control device acquires an injection amount parameter. The fuel injection control device calculates, based on the dynamic parameter, a dynamic correction value. The fuel injection control device calculates, based on the injection amount parameter, an injection amount correction value. The fuel injection control device corrects a fuel injection using the dynamic correction value and the injection amount correction value.

FUEL INJECTOR HAVING CONTROLLED NOZZLE TIP PROTRUSION IN CYLINDER HEAD AND CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY WITH SAME

A fuel injector includes an injector housing defining a longitudinal axis, and including a body piece having formed therein a fuel inlet defining a transverse axis intersecting the longitudinal axis. The injector housing further includes a nozzle having formed therein a plurality of spray outlets, and including a nozzle terminal tip. The injector housing further includes a locating surface axially inward of the nozzle terminal tip and extending circumferentially around the nozzle. A first axial distance (AD) is defined between an intersection of the transverse axis and the longitudinal axis, and the nozzle terminal tip. An exposed tip length axial distance (TL) is defined between the locating surface and the nozzle terminal tip. A ratio of AD to TL is from 8.06 to 8.34.

FUEL INJECTOR HAVING SIDE-FITTED FUEL CONNECTOR FOR TIGHT PACKAGING IN TOP-FEED FUEL SYSTEM

A fuel injector includes an injector housing having a fuel connector, and an outer housing surface extending around a longitudinal axis of the injector housing. The outer housing surface includes a cylindrical upper section, a cylindrical lower section, and a middle section. The fuel connector defines a connector axis oriented normal to a longitudinal axis of the injector housing and extending between a first connector end attached to the middle section, and a terminal connector end radially outward of the outer housing surface and having therein a fuel inlet. The fuel connector includes an outer connector surface having an unthreaded base section, and an externally threaded end section adjacent to the terminal connector end.

SLIM-PROFILE FUEL INJECTOR FOR TIGHT PACKAGING IN TOP FEED FUEL SYSTEM

A fuel injector includes an injector housing defining a longitudinal axis extending between a first axial injector end and a second axial injector end. The injector housing includes an upper body piece forming the first axial injector end and including a fuel connector defining a connector axis intersecting the longitudinal axis. The injector housing further includes a nozzle having formed therein a plurality of spray outlets, and including a nozzle terminal tip. An injector full diameter (FD) is defined by the upper body piece. An axial distance (AD) is defined between an intersection of the connector axis and the longitudinal axis, and the nozzle terminal tip. A ratio of AD to FD is from 4.8 to 5.1.

Fuel injection valve driving device

This fuel includes: a first switching element disposed between a booster circuit boosting a battery power and one end of a solenoid; a second switching element disposed between a battery and one end of the solenoid; a third switching element disposed between the other end of the solenoid and a ground; a fourth switching element disposed between one end of the solenoid and a ground; and a control unit configured to control open/closed states of the first switching element, the second switching element, the third switching element, and the fourth switching element. The control unit is configured to open the fourth switching element during a valve closing detection period of detecting closing of a fuel injection valve and to detect the closing of the fuel injection valve on the basis of a change in voltage of the other end of the solenoid.

The disclosure provides a system and method for determining an amount of fuel injected or delivered by a single fuel injector in an internal combustion engine by generating one fuel injection event after the engine has stopped operating. The fuel delivered is statistically analyzed in comparison with a commanded fuel delivery amounts to determine the suitability of fuel injector on-time calibration for the analyzed fuel injector. If the fuel delivered deviates from the commanded amount of fuel delivery by a predetermined value, the fuel injector on-time calibration for the analyzed fuel injector is changed.
