Barring-tool system and method
A barring-tool system improving safety, speed, effectiveness, and number of personnel required for maintenance, repair, and inspection of large engines, generators, and turbines, providing controlled bidirectional rotation and locking of crankshafts during maintenance, and a method for maintenance of large engines, generators, and turbines using the barring-tool system.
STARTER ASSEMBLY WITH REVERSIBLE STARTER
A starter assembly including a starter and starting device. The starter includes: an electric motor including a motor shaft; an output shaft non-rotatably connected to the motor shaft; and a one-way clutch including a first race including an axially fixed pinion gear and a second race non-rotatably connected to the output shaft. The starting device includes a wrap spring clutch with first and second ends. For a start mode: the electric motor rotates the motor shaft and the pinion gear in a first circumferential direction; the pinion gear rotates the second end, with respect to the first end, in the first circumferential direction; and, the wrap spring clutch rotates a torque converter shell in the first circumferential direction. For a first phase of a release mode: the electric motor rotates the second race in a second circumferential direction; and the first race rotates in the second circumferential direction.
Engine Device
An engine device including a cylinder block having one side portion to which a flywheel that is rotated integrally with a crankshaft is disposed. The engine device is provided with a starter that transmits a rotational force to the flywheel at a time of engine start. A flywheel housing, which accommodates the flywheel and includes a starter attachment pedestal for attaching the starter, is attached to the one side portion of the cylinder block. The starter is disposed inner side of the engine than a portion of the flywheel housing, the portion being located outermost in the engine with respect to a direction that is perpendicular to a direction along a crankshaft center and that is parallel to the cylinder head joining surface of the cylinder block.
Electric starting system for an internal combustion engine
An electric starting system for an internal combustion engine is provided. The starting system includes a battery, a starter motor, and a blower housing. The starter motor is configured to start the internal combustion engine. The battery is integrated with the blower housing.
Automatic starting flywheel
The flywheel (3) comprises a flywheel mass (5) and an automatic starting device (9) for driving into rotation the flywheel mass (5), coaxial with the flywheel mass (5), rotatable with respect to the flywheel mass, and adapted to be torsionally coupled to a motion input (7). The automatic starting device (9) comprises a drag torque transmission member for transmitting drag torque from the automatic starting device (9) to the flywheel mass (5), adapted to transmit a torque that increases as the angular speed of the automatic starting device increases.
Spring casing and starter device with a spring casing
A spring casing of a starter device of an internal combustion engine has a base body provided with a spring receptacle. A cover plate is provided to cover at least partially the spring receptacle. A connecting device is provided that connects the cover plate and the base body to each other. The connecting device secures the cover plate against a movement relative to the base body in a direction of a center axis of the spring casing. The connecting device only has a first part that is a component of the base body and a second part that is a component of the cover plate and has no further parts. A starter device with such a spring casing is provided.
Control device for internal combustion engine
When an engine is started, an ECU determines whether an inside of a cylinder is in a wet concerned state in which there is a concern about fuel wet, or the inside of the cylinder is in a liquid particle float state in which a large volume of floating liquid particle of fuel arise. On determination that it is in the wet concerned state, the ECU performs a first control for reducing an intake air amount as a control of an opening timing and a closing timing by using the variable valve device. On determination that it is in the floating liquid particle state, the ECU performs a second control for increasing an in-cylinder temperature as a control of the opening timing and the closing timing by using the variable valve device.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM
An internal combustion engine includes an engine block, a blower housing configured to direct cooling air to the engine block, an electric starting system, and a crankshaft configured to rotate about a crankshaft axis. The electric starting system includes an electric motor and an energy storage device located within the blower housing. The energy storage device is electrically coupled to the electric motor to power the electric motor, and is positioned above the crankshaft. When the starter motor is activated, the electric starting system rotates the crankshaft to rotate the engine for starting.
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM
An internal combustion engine includes an engine block, a blower housing configured to direct cooling air to the engine block, an electric starting system, and a crankshaft configured to rotate about a crankshaft axis. An energy storage system for a military vehicle includes a battery housing defining a lower end and an upper end, a battery disposed within the battery housing, a bracket coupled to the battery housing at or proximate the upper end thereof, a lower support supporting the lower end of the battery housing, and an upper connector extending from the bracket. The upper connector is configured to engage a rear wall of a cab of the military vehicle.
