Provided is an internal combustion engine ignition device capable of preventing an output signal level of a drive circuit from changing sharply when shifting from a normal ignition operation mode to a protection operation mode while reducing the cost of dedicated components and the like. An internal combustion engine ignition device of the present invention includes a first differential circuit for outputting a drive signal in a first mode and a second differential circuit for outputting a drive signal in a second mode, where the first differential circuit and the second differential circuit each include a transistor and are configured such that a drive current for supplying the drive signal flows through the transistor which is common between the first mode and the second mode.

Ignition coil and ignition system for a vehicle

An ignition system for a vehicle includes an ignition coil and a thermoelectric cooler. The ignition coil has primary and secondary coils. The ignition coil is configured to deliver electrical power from a battery to a least one spark plug. The thermoelectric cooler is disposed along an external surface of the ignition coil and is configured to transfer heat generated by the primary and secondary coils to an ambient surrounding.

Engine systems which are easier starting and more resistant to degradation and discharge of their batteries are desirable in a wide range of equipment markets. The present engine systems utilize a selection module which selective switches from a first state when the battery is adequately charged to a second state which enables the use of auxiliary components such as special starting stators and regulators which can power the engine control module even when the battery is too discharged to power the engine control module directly.

An ignition coil for an internal combustion engine includes a plug boot with a hole having a length extending in an axial direction of the ignition coil. The length of the hole has a portion which includes a plurality of small distance-to-center sections and a plurality of large distance-to-center sections which are arranged alternately in a circumferential direction of the hole. Each of the small distance-to-center sections is located at a first distance away from the center of the hole, while each of the large distance-to-center sections is located at a second distance away from the center of the hole. The second distance is larger than the first distance. The small distance-to-center sections are placed to be contactable with an outer periphery of the coil spring. This structure of the ignition coil has enhanced resistance to mechanical vibration of the coil spring and also has enhanced withstand voltage.
