SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF A GAS-DRIVEN GENERATOR USING A PHASE CHANGE REFRIGERANT
An gas-driven generator system for generating electric power from movement of a working liquid. The system includes a gas-driven generator that includes a liquid turbine system fluidically interposed between the lower end of an elongated gravitational distribution conduit and the lower ends of plural elongated buoyancy conduits. A heavy working liquid flows from the upper ends of the buoyancy conduits and is fed into the upper end of the elongated gravitational distribution conduit. Working liquid flows down the elongated gravitational distribution conduit to actuate the liquid turbine system. An injection of refrigerant gas into the working liquid in the plural elongated buoyancy conduits induces upward flow of the working liquid. The system includes a solar thermal heating system fluidically coupled to heat exchangers that transfer heat collected by the solar thermal heating system to the working liquid through a thermal transfer fluid circuit.

COMPRESSER FOR PUMPING FLUID HAVING CHECK VALVES ALIGNED WITH FLUID PORTS
A compressor comprises a first cylinder for compressing a fluid and a second cylinder for driving a piston in the first cylinder. The first cylinder comprises a chamber configured to receive the fluid. The piston is reciprocally movable in the chamber for compressing the fluid. The chamber comprises four ports at the first end including two inlet ports and two outlet ports with a check valve is connected to each port. Each of the four ports is slanted such that the plurality of check valves and inlet and outlet conduits are spaced apart from the second cylinder. The compressor further comprises an inlet conduit to supply the fluid from a fluid source to the chamber through the inlet ports and an outlet conduit for receiving fluid from the chamber through the outlet ports.
System and method for evacuating a process space
A method for evacuating a process space by initially evacuating the process space to a pressure limit value using two compressors operated in parallel, and on reaching or undershooting the pressure limit value, the process space is subsequently evacuated using the two compressors operated in series.

Electroactive polymer actuator for multi-stage pump
A two-stage pump system is provided using electrostatic actuators. The system includes a pair of hydraulically-amplified, self-healing, electrostatic (HASEL) actuators in fluid communication with one another. Each actuator includes a deformable shell defining a working fluid compartment storing a dielectric fluid. Two electrodes are disposed on opposite sides of the deformable shell. A pair of fluid transfer bladders are disposed adjacent the respective pair of HASEL actuators, each including a fluid-impermeable membrane defining a transfer fluid chamber, and a biasing member disposed in the transfer fluid chamber. When individually actuated in an alternating two-stage pattern, the two electrodes of each respective HASEL actuator move from a neutral position to an attracted position, displacing dielectric fluid through the first transfer conduit and between working fluid compartments, thereby pumping the transfer fluid from an inlet to an outlet.

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for efficiently ventilating hydrogen from a fuel cell enclosure.
Wheel-mounted air compression apparatus
A wheel-mounted air compression apparatus for maintaining a predetermined inflation pressure of a tire mounted on a wheel of a vehicle and the tire having an inflation port includes a housing defining an air compression chamber and has an air compressor device positioned therein. The apparatus includes a plurality of support legs spaced apart from one another. Each support leg is attached to the housing and extends away therefrom and may include a pair of sleeves that are length-adjustable for mounting to wheels of various sizes. A pressure sensor is situated in the housing and operably connected to the air compressor and to a nozzle for determining a current pressure of air within the tire. A controller or other electronics cause the air compressor to pump air into a tire if the air pressure therein is detected as declining below a predetermined amount.
