A coolant pump includes a pump frame, a driving wheel driven by an engine, a pump wheel driven by the driving wheel, and a clutch which couples the driving wheel with the pump wheel. The clutch comprises a friction surface arranged at the driving wheel, and a clutch disc which corresponds to the friction surface. The clutch disk is connected with and co-rotates with the pump wheel, and is axially shiftable between an engaged and a disengaged position. An axial pretension spring pretensions the clutch disc into the disengaged position. A permanent magnet forces the clutch disc into the engaged position. An electromagnet, when energized, generates a polarization which is opposite to a polarization of the permanent magnet to reduce a total magnetic attraction force of the permanent magnet with respect to the clutch disc and to thereby push the clutch disc into the disengaged position via the pretension spring.

The compressor assembly includes: a compression piston having a first side and a second side; a first rod portion coupled to a buoyant member coupled to the first side of the compression piston, wherein movement of the buoyant member is transferred, via the first rod portion, into movement of the compression piston between a top and bottom end of a compression chamber; and a second rod portion coupled to the second side of the compression piston and including a terminal surface, wherein the second portion is sized such that the terminal surface is located within an equalizer assembly during an entire range of motion of the compression piston. A diameter of the second portion is equal to or greater than a diameter of the first portion.

A high pressure gas lift compressor system and method of using the system for supplying compressed gas to multiple wells are provided. The system includes a compressor having multiple compressor cylinders. Each cylinder has its own gas inlet line and dedicated gas outlet line that supplies compressed gas from that cylinder directly to a wellbore to provide artificial gas lift. Each cylinder also has its own control valve upstream of the cylinder to control the suction pressure to the cylinder. A desired gas flow rate to each well may be input, and the control valve is adjusted accordingly to achieve the flow rate. By inputting a flow rate for each separate cylinder, the flow rate to each well may be independently controlled.

A hydraulically operated compressor has a fixed piston and a fixed compression or outer cylinder. A drive or intermediate cylinder is located between the piston and outer cylinder. A compression chamber is formed between the drive cylinder and the outer cylinder. Drive fluid is pumped into and released from an interior chamber in the drive cylinder to reciprocate the drive cylinder. The drive fluid also provides cooling to the interior of the compressor.

Methods and systems are provided for conducting a diagnostic routine of the fuel vapor system using pressure generated by raising or lowering a vehicle body element such as a hood or a trunk. In one example, by utilizing lift gate cylinders coupled to the hood or trunk, during raising a hood or trunk, the fuel vapor system may be evacuated and during lowering the hood or trunk, the fuel vapor system may be pressurized. A change in vacuum or higher pressure in the fuel vapor system may be monitored over a time period to detect any undesirable evaporative emissions from the fuel vapor system.
