Microblower
A micropump and its use, the micropump including a vibration unit with piezo actuator, which is arranged on an vibration diaphragm, a vibration plate arranged opposite the vibration diaphragm and having a blower opening, as well as a wall arranged between the vibration diaphragm and the vibration plate, so that a blower chamber is formed, and a housing, in which the vibration unit is mounted, with an suction opening, as well as an output opening, which lies opposite the blower opening. The housing forms a closed space and has at least one suction opening arranged radially, or on an underside opposite the vibration unit, with a suction channel leading into a pump chamber located between the vibration plate and the inside of the housing.
CHANNEL-LESS PUMP, METHODS, AND APPLICATIONS THEREOF
A channel-less microfluidic pump includes a cartridge including a substrate and an actuatable film layer disposed on the substrate, and a manifold having at least three actuatable void volumes separated by a plurality of wall sections and an actuatable flexible layer disposed on the manifold interfacing the actuatable film layer. In operation, the pump can be in an unactuated state wherein the actuatable film layer is disposed against the surface of the substrate or an actuated state wherein at least a portion of the flexible layer and a corresponding portion of the actuatable film layer are deflected into a corresponding void volume thus forming a fluidic volume between the deflected portion of the actuatable film layer and the surface of the substrate. In the actuated state, there is a fluidic gap between immediately adjacent void volumes formed by a thinned region of the flexible layer at a point of contact with a top surface of a wall section. A method of transporting fluid using the channel-less microfluidic pump is described.
Air detection system and method for detecting air in a pump of an infusion system
Various systems and methods for detecting air in a chamber of an infusion system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a determination is made that air is contained in the chamber on the basis of a change in the average force exerted against the plunger utilizing a derivative spike for event detection and a systematic reduction in the average force to confirm the nature of the change. In another embodiment, a determination is made that the chamber contains air when a difference between the current force profile and a baseline force profile crosses a threshold. In an additional embodiment, a force profile is classified as being an air force profile or a liquid force profile based on extracted features of the force profile.
Hose pump rotor
A hose pump rotor includes a main rotating shaft. The main rotating shaft includes a main shaft and a rotor base which are fixedly connected to each other, roller support arms are symmetrically arranged on the rotor base and outer ends thereof are connected to rollers, with axes of the rollers being parallel to an axis of the main shaft, the roller support arms and the rotor base form a radially-displaceable limiting fit, and the roller support arms and the rotor base form a locking fit. The rotor base includes a groove enclosed by a bottom plate and side plates disposed on opposite sides thereof, wherein the bottom plate is fixedly connected to the main shaft.
Mechanical tubular diaphragm pump having a housing with upstream and downstream check valves fixed thereto at either end of a resilient tube forming a fluid pathway wherein the tube is depressed by a depressor configured to be moved by a motorized reciprocating unit
Mechanical tubular diaphragm pump features are presented herein. Such a tubular pump can include a resilient tube having a lumen and a pair of upstream and downstream check valves located along the same fluid pathway as the lumen. The tubular pump further includes a motorized reciprocating unit and a depressor configured to be moved by the motorized reciprocating unit to cyclically depress and release the resilient tube. The resilient tube forces fluid within the lumen downstream past the downstream check valve as the resilient tube is depressed by the depressor, and further pulls upstream fluid past the upstream check valve and into the lumen as the resilient tube returns upon release by the depressor. Multiple resilient tubes may be used in the same pump. The tube(s), depressor, and valves may be attached to a housing that is modularly removable from the motorized reciprocating unit.
