The invention relates to an orbital pump for pumping a fluid, wherein the pump comprises at least one pump control system, a motor that can be controlled by the pump control system, a rotor shaft (10) for fluid transport, and a rotor sensor for detecting an absolute angle of rotation of the rotor shaft (40), the rotor sensor is connected to the pump control system and designed to transmit the angle of rotation of the rotor shaft (40) to the pump control system, and the pump control system is designed to rotationally control the rotor shaft (40) by means of the motor until the rotor shaft (40) is in a pre-determined angle of rotation position.

Downhole tools for earth-boring applications may include a component of a steel material and including a bore. An inner surface defining the bore may be treated with a surface treatment. The surface treatment may include a nitrided region having nitrogen diffused into the steel material and a ceramic material adjacent to the nitrided region; the ceramic material defining the inner surface. Methods of making downhole tools for earth-boring applications may involve exposing a component of the downhole tool to an elevated temperature to heat the component in a nitrogen-rich environment. Nitrogen may be diffused into a steel material of the component and a nitrided region may be formed at one or more surfaces of the component. A ceramic material may be coated on the nitrided region of the component.

A device providing a dosed supply of a liquid includes: a pump configured to deliver the liquid and having a pump housing with an inlet and an outlet; an eccentric on the pump housing; and a deformable diaphragm between the pump housing and the eccentric, the deformable diaphragm and the pump housing delimiting a delivery path from the inlet to the outlet and forming a seal of the delivery path. The seal is displaceable along the delivery path, by a movement of the eccentric, in a delivery direction from the inlet to the outlet to deliver the liquid. The pump is configured such that within the pump a friction torque that must be overcome for the eccentric to move is greater than a maximum pressure torque that can be generated by pressurized liquid in the delivery path, so as to prevent movement of the eccentric counter to the delivery direction.

A pump for delivering a fluid includes: a pump housing having an inlet and an outlet, and having an inner circumferential face; a drive shaft; an eccentric inside the pump housing, the eccentric being eccentrically movable relative to the pump housing; a deformable element arranged in a pump gap between the inner circumferential face and an outer surface of the eccentric, the deformable element and the inner circumferential face defining a delivery channel. The deformable element is forced against the pump housing by the outer surface of the eccentric along at least a portion of the delivery channel such to form a sliding sealing of the delivery channel that can be slid along the delivery channel from the inlet to the outlet to deliver fluid by movement of the eccentric. A reinforcing ring has a coefficient of thermal expansion smaller than a coefficient of thermal expansion of the pump housing.

The stator includes at least one insert comprising a hard material disposed over at least a portion of an interior surface thereof and a matrix material at least partially surrounding the at least one insert. The rotor includes at least one insert disposed over at least a portion of an exterior surface thereof and a matrix material at least partially surrounding the at least one insert.
