A centrifugal pump with a rotating impeller and a rotating diffuser. The diffuser may be rotated with a controlled speed to broaden the operational range of the pump. Such control may be done independently of the rotational speed of the impeller to tailor pump operation to a particular NPSH, efficiency, fluid flow or related requirement. In one preferred form, the impeller and diffuser are made to counter-rotate relative to one another, while the independent rotational speed of each may be provided by one or more motors, as well as a variable-speed transmission coupled to such motor or motors. Such a pump is optimized for specific speed operating ranges beneath those associated with axial flow pump configurations.

An electric unit such as an electric water pump or an electric radiator fan for a motor vehicle with a plug-in connection comprises a region of the connections between contact tongues and stripped ends of the individual wires of the cable of the plug is sealed, and that a sufficient tightness can be ensured in relation to the ingress of moisture along the wires from the surroundings of the water pump through the plug into the housing. A plug and method for producing the plug for a plug-in connection on an electric unit includes a strain relief means, and a seal in the region of the electric contact between the contact tongues and the wire ends of the individual wires.

A centrifugal pump device has at least one impeller (16), a circulation connection between a delivery side (22) of the at least one impeller (16) and a suction side (20) of the at least one impeller (16), and a valve arrangement (30, 46) in said circulation connection (44, 54). The valve arrangement (30, 46) has a first valve mode providing a pressure dependent shut-off valve (46) in the circulation connection. The valve arrangement (30, 46) allows a change between the first valve mode and at least one further valve mode. The at least one further valve mode provides at least one fixed closing degree of the circulation connection (44, 54).

A centrifugal pump device has at least one impeller (16), a circulation connection between a delivery side (22) of the at least one impeller (16) and a suction side (20) of the at least one impeller (16), and a valve arrangement (30, 46) in said circulation connection (44, 54). The valve arrangement (30, 46) has a first valve mode providing a pressure dependent shut-off valve (46) in the circulation connection. The valve arrangement (30, 46) allows a change between the first valve mode and at least one further valve mode. The at least one further valve mode provides at least one fixed closing degree of the circulation connection (44, 54).

A hybrid-driven dual pump for conveying a coolant for a combustion engine, is proposed. The dual pump comprises: a first pump assembly with a first pump impeller, a first spiral housing and a first pump shaft driven via a mechanical drive connection by a combustion engine; a second pump assembly with a second pump impeller, a second spiral housing, a second pump shaft and an electric drive; a joint pump housing enclosing the first pump assembly and the second pump assembly with a joint pump inlet and a joint pump outlet; and a flap arranged freely pivotably between an outlet of the first spiral housing and an outlet of the second spiral housing such that a direct flow connection between the first spiral housing and the second spiral housing is blocked.

The impeller (1) includes a main plate (3) formed from a metal plate; and vanes (5) each formed from a metal plate. Each of the vanes (5) has a three-dimensional portion (5A) having a surface inclined with respect to a rotation axis (CA) of the impeller (1) and a two-dimensional portion (5B) having a surface parallel to the rotation axis (CA) of the impeller (1), and the two-dimensional portion (5B) is fixed to the main plate (3) by a first weld (10) formed by projection welding.

In a urea injection system of a vehicle, to detect the shortage of the cooling water by using an electric water pump (EWP) to cool a dosing injector during the running of the vehicle engine, the apparatus for detecting shortage of the cooling water in the vehicle includes a urea injector that injects urea into an exhaust pipe of the vehicle, a pump that cools the urea injector, and a controller that applies a reference current to the pump, measures a time taken until a revolutions per minute (RPM) of the pump reaches a reference RPM, and detects the shortage of the cooling water in the pump by comparing the measured time and a reference time.

The present disclosure is directed to a modular, multi-specialty pump system. The pump system includes a pump console with a motor and a sensor and a removable pump cassette attached to the pump console. The pump cassette includes a cassette identifier and the sensor can detect the cassette identifier and adjust at least one operating parameter of the motor depending on the detected cassette identifier of the pump cassette.

The present disclosure is directed to a modular, multi-specialty pump system. The pump system includes a pump console with a motor and a sensor and a removable pump cassette attached to the pump console.
