Gas production method using water as the source
A system and method are provided in at least one embodiment to process water to produce gas that can be separated into at least two gas flows using a water treatment system having a disk-pack rotating in it to cause out gassing from the water. In a further embodiment, the method and system use the gas released from the water to produce substantially fresh water from the processed salt water.
Diagnostic apparatus for fuel pump
A diagnostic apparatus for a fuel pump diagnoses the state of a fuel pump based on: a correlation between a pump rotational speed that is a rotational speed of the motor and fuel pressure that is pressure of the fuel discharged from the fuel pump; and an initial correlation that is the correlation in an initial actuation period from when the fuel pump is energized for the first time to when a specified period has elapsed.
Disk array and disk-pack turbines
A system and method in at least one embodiment for separating fluids including liquids and gases into subcomponents by passing the fluid through a vortex chamber into an expansion chamber and then through at least a portion of a waveform pattern present between at least two rotors and/or disks. In further embodiments, a system and method is offered for harnessing fields created by a system having rotating rotors and/or disks having waveform patterns on at least one side to produce current within a plurality of coils. In at least one embodiment, the waveform patterns include a plurality of hyperbolic waveforms axially aligned around a horizontal center of the system.
Retrofit Attachments for Water Treatment Systems
In at least one embodiment, the invention provides a retrofit for existing water treatment systems where the retrofit includes a particulate separator with a connection member and a discharge module. In a further embodiment, the invention includes a water treatment system combined with at least one of the following: a particulate separator, a supplementary inlet, and a waveform disk-pack turbine.
Additively manufactured fluid pumps and portions thereof
In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, embodiments of fluid pumps, pump cases, valve bodies, and volutes are disclosed herein. Embodiments of methods for manufacturing fluid pumps, pump cases, valve bodies, and volutes are also disclosed herein. Embodiments can include additive manufacturing, for example. Certain embodiments can include additively manufacturing a pump case in a tilted orientation, utilizing only coincidental support structure having a unique shape, and with teardrop shaped volute and/or valve body.
Side-channel compressor for a fuel cell system for conveying and/or compressing a gaseous medium
A side-channel compressor (1) for a fuel cell system (37) for conveying and/or compressing a gas, in particular hydrogen, having a housing (3), having a compressor chamber (30) which is situated in the housing (3) and which has two encircling side channels (19, 21), having a compressor impeller (2) which is situated in the housing (3) and which is arranged so as to be rotatable about an axis of rotation (4), wherein the compressor impeller (2) has conveying cells (28) arranged at the circumference thereof and in the region of the compressor chamber (30), and having in each case one gas inlet opening (14) formed on the housing (3) and one gas outlet opening (16), which openings are fluidically connected to one another via the compressor chamber (30), in particular the two side channels (19, 21), and wherein, in the region of the compressor chamber (30), an encapsulation of the respective side channel (19, 21) is realized by at least one separation region (35) by means of a surface pairing of the compressor wheel (2) and of the housing (3). According to the invention, here, the at least one separation region (35) is formed by a surface pairing of the components compressor impeller (2) and housing (3) such that the respective one component has encircling edges (5), in particular with encircling tips (11), and the respective other component has an encircling, at least approximately planar counterpart surface (23).
Sealing ring gland and fuel pump including the same
A sealing ring gland receives a sealing ring. The sealing ring gland includes an inner wall surface which seals against an inner periphery of the sealing ring. An outer wall surface is radially offset from the inner wall surface and seals against an outer periphery of the sealing ring. The sealing ring is axially compressed between an upper wall surface and a lower wall surface of the sealing ring gland. At least one of the upper wall surface and the lower wall surface includes an expansion volume which provides space for the sealing ring to expand upon swelling of the sealing ring.
Disk-Pack Housing
The invention in at least one embodiment includes a system for treating water having an intake module, a vortex module, a disk-pack module, and a motor module where the intake module is above the vortex module, which is above the disk-pack module and the motor module. In a further embodiment, a housing is provided over at least the intake module and the vortex module and sits above the disk-pack module. In at least one further embodiment, the disk-pack module includes a disk-pack turbine having a plurality of disks having at least one waveform present on at least one of the disks.
Surge protection for a multistage compressor
A coolant system includes a multistage compressor having a plurality of surge detection sensors. A condenser is connected to an outlet of the multistage compressor. An economizer is connected to an outlet of the condenser and has a gaseous coolant outlet and a liquid coolant outlet. The liquid coolant outlet is connected to a cooler and the gaseous coolant outlet is connected to a second or later stage of the multistage compressor via a controllable valve. A controller is communicatively coupled to the surge detection sensors and the controllable valve. The controller includes a non-transitory medium storing instructions for causing the controller to detect an occurrence of a surge and restricting a flow through the controllable valve until the surge has ceased.
