Fluid exchange devices and related controls, systems, and methods

Devices for exchanging properties, such as pressure, between at least two fluid streams and related methods may include pistons coupled to a valve stem. The valve stem and valve body may be configured to define a primary seal between the one or more pistons and the valve body and a secondary seal between the one or more pistons and the valve body.

Fluid energizing device

Apparatus and methods for energizing well operations fluids, including a fluid energizing device directly or operatively connected between first and second conduits. The fluid energizing device includes a chamber. A first fluid enters the chamber from the first conduit, and a second fluid enters the chamber from the second conduit and energizes the first fluid within the chamber. A third conduit conducts the energized first fluid from the chamber to a wellhead.

Pressure exchanger pressure oscillation source

Apparatus and methods for utilizing pressure exchangers as a source of pressure oscillations. An example method includes operating a plurality of pressure exchangers to pressurize a stream of fluid, injecting the pressurized stream of fluid into a wellbore extending into a subterranean formation, and controlling rotational speed and rotational position of a rotor of each of the pressure exchangers to control amplitude and/or frequency of pressure oscillations within the pressurized stream of fluid being injected into the wellbore.

Fluid to fluid pressurizer and method of operating the same

A fluid to fluid pressurizer includes an elongated stationary portion comprising a plurality of flow channels, said stationary portion comprising a first face at a first end and a second face at a second end. A first and second rotor housing are disposed adjacent to the end of the elongated stationary portion and have a fluid inlet fluidically coupled to respective first and second annular channels. A first and second rotary valve plates are in the housings and have inlet valve ports coupling the fluid inlet to the plurality of flow channels and outlet valve ports fluidically coupling the flow channels to adjacent the rotor faces. The rotary valve plates have sealing surfaces adjacent the stator faces. Annular seals are disposed between the rotor housings and the rotary valve plate between the annular channels. A motor or motors rotate the rotary valve plates within the housings.

GAS COMPRESSOR WITH EDUCTOR ASSEMBLY

A gas compressor comprising a substantially hollow cylindrical drum secured to a fixed shaft and configured to rotate a volume of fluid about a central axis. A plurality of eductors may be affixed to the shaft through support rods and positioned within an interior of the drum to receive a flow of fluid during rotation of the drum. A gas inlet along the fixed shaft comprises a channel through which gas external to the drum may be drawn into the eductors and compressed. Compressed gas accumulates within a central area of the drum and may be harvested through a gas outlet along the fixed shaft. Additional embodiments may comprise pitot tubes to manage a fluid level within the drum, and a cooling system to manage fluid temperature.

Pistons for use in fluid exchange devices and related devices, systems, and methods

Pistons and related methods may be configured to separate fluids and to at least partially prohibit one fluid from traveling to one side of the piston from another side of the piston. Pressure exchange devices and systems may include such pistons.
