In one aspect, a method includes obtaining a dental model of a particular user's teeth and determining, based on the dental model of the particular user's teeth, a configuration for a set of cleaning elements to be included with the toothbrush device. The method further includes forming the toothbrush device for the particular user based on the dental model of the particular user's teeth, whereby the toothbrush device includes: (i) a cleaner body, personalized for the particular user based on the dental model of the particular user's teeth, that defines a cleaning cavity shaped for receiving the particular user's teeth, and (ii) the set of cleaning elements, integrally formed with the cleaner body, that contact and clean the particular user's teeth during application of the toothbrush device, whereby the cleaning elements have the determined configuration.
