A connecting element for a mechanical joint includes a base part, and a connector part protruding from the base part. The connector part includes a protrusion portion, and a contacting portion extending from the protrusion portion to a direction of the first end of the base part such that a gap is formed between the contacting portion and the front surface of the base part and such that a bottom of the gap is formed by the protrusion portion. The contacting portion includes a front surface which is parallel to the portion of the front surface of the base part in the area of the gap and a back surface facing toward the front surface of the base part.

Joining method for members

A joining method for members includes: providing a steel component 10 including insertion holes 14a and 15a, an aluminum pipe 20 having a hollow shape, and a support component 30; inserting the aluminum pipe 20 into the insertion holes 14a and 15a of the steel component 10; and enlarging the aluminum pipe 20 through deformation and joining the aluminum pipe 20 to the steel component 10 by press-fitting. The press-fit joining is performed while at least part of the support component 30 is disposed in a press-fitting region.

Support member

The present disclosure reduces the manufacturing costs of a support member with a portion made from resin that supports a conductive member. The support member is equipped with: a resin main body portion that has a support surface for supporting a conductive member such as an electric wire; and a metal plate that has a through-hole for a bolt and is for attachment to a device. The main body portion has a receptacle portion into which the plate is press-fitted and fixed.

A vehicle transmission includes a housing, an electric machine, a bracket, and a plurality of fasteners. The housing has internal rear and internal side walls that define a cavity. The electric machine stator and the bracket are disposed within the cavity. The bracket has a metallic inner ring and an elastomer outer ring. The elastomer outer ring engages the internal side wall. The electric machine stator is disposed between the bracket and the internal rear wall. The plurality of fasteners extends through the metallic inner ring, through the stator, and engages the rear internal wall to secure the stator to the housing.

A spline installation device for use with a spline/rail type frame to assemble the splines to the rails. The device including a base that defines a platform for receiving a frame subassembly; and a plurality of linkages that are disposed about the platform and coupled to the base. Each linkage is configured to move between a first position in which a fence bearing surface thereof is at an angle other than 90 degrees relative to the platform and a second position in which the fence bearing surface is set at an at least substantially 90 degree angle relative to the platform for locking and holding the frame subassembly in place. The linkages further being configured to receive a spline instillation tool for locking the splines in place relative to the rails.

The electric machine stator is disposed between the bracket and the internal rear wall. The plurality of fasteners extends through the metallic inner ring, through the stator, and engages the rear internal wall to secure the stator to the housing.
