Structure and method for securing layers of roofing materials
11971059 · 2024-04-30 ·

A roofing fastener has an anchor plate, a staple, and a hollow shank extending perpendicularly away from the anchor plate. The staple is insertable within the hollow shank, and one or more free ends of the staple is extendable from an opening in a free end of the hollow shank. The anchor plate has a raised bonding surface with adhesive and heat sinks dispersed thereabout. The anchor plate and hollow shank may be separable or a single connected structure. In operation, the roofing fastener is inserted within a substructure about the hollow shank, such that the anchor plate rests atop an upper surface of the substructure. The staple is then depressed within the hollow shank such that one or more free ends of the staple penetrate the substructure at an angle relative to the hollow shank. A single-ply membrane is welded to the anchor plate via the adhesive.

JOIST AND NAILER ASSEMBLY HAVING NAILER PLATES AND A METHOD OF ASSEMBLING
20240133179 · 2024-04-25 · ·

Joists of a structural roofing system typically comprises an upper chord, a lower chord, and web(s), which operatively couple the upper chord to the lower chord. The upper chord and the lower chord may each be formed from two angle members (e.g., otherwise described as L-shaped members). The web may also be formed from a plurality of web members, such as angle members. The joists utilize nailer members on the upper chord to provide a location for assembly with decking panels. The nailer member is attached to the upper chord through the use of nailer plates, which have a plurality of perforated apertures that form teeth. The nailer plate is bent, the teeth are pressed into the nailer member, and plate connections are used to assemble the nailer plates (e.g., manually, automatically, or both) to the upper chord of the joist to form a joist and nailer assembly.

A fastener cap assembly for securing protective wrap to lumber includes a plurality of fastener caps spaced from one another by breakable tabs along a first axis extending through a center of the fastener caps, with each of the fastener caps and breakable tabs comprising a substrate formed from a paper-based material. The fastener cap assembly further includes a groove extending across a center portion of the breakable tabs and penetrating inward from the top surface of the breakable tabs to a predetermined depth, and a protective material applied to at least the top surfaces of the substrates that forms a non-waxy and moisture-resistant protective barrier when cured.

Staple

A staple includes a length of metal wire shaped to form a crown and two spikes. Each spike depends from a respective end of the crown and includes a shoulder at each end of the crown, a sharpened tip portion and an elbow interposed between each tip portion and shoulder, the elbow comprised of a proximal limb and a distal limb such that the tip portions depend from respective distal limbs. An included angle between each shoulder and the crown is between about 91 and 96, an included angle between each proximal limb and the crown is between about 60 and 85 and an included angle between each distal limb and the crown is between about 95 and 130.

Nail plater apparatus and related methods

A nail plater apparatus includes a board magazine configured to hold stacked boards, and a pair of spaced apart nail plate magazines, with each nail plate magazine configured to hold stacked nail plates. The nail plater apparatus includes a pair of spaced apart nail plate extractor assemblies, with each nail plate extractor assembly associated with a respective nail plate magazine and configured to position a nail plate therefrom to a respective nail plate pressing area. A board feeder is configured to position a board from the board magazine to a board receiving area, with ends of the board being aligned with the nail plates positioned in the respective nail plate pressing areas. A pair of spaced apart nail plate presser assemblies overlie ends of the board receiving area and is aligned with the respective nail plate pressing areas to press the nail plates into the ends of the board.

A nail for a nail setting tool comprises a predominantly lignocellulosic material. The nail has a nail shank, at the front end of which is provided a nail tip in the form of a conical round tip. At the rear end region is a head region. The tip angle of the nail tip is >40.

Wall mountable object support system and related accessories

A wall mounted object support system includes a grid member with a peripheral portion proximate a wall and a body portion offset from the peripheral portion and spaced further away from the wall than the peripheral portion. The grid member is formed by a plurality of spaced apart first elongated rod or wire portions each running in a first direction and a plurality of spaced apart second rod or wire portions each running in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. One or more of a support block and/or pivoting anchor components may be used to hold the grid member against the wall.

A nail plate driving system for safely and efficiently installing nail plates at various heights. A first handle having an engaging head removably receives a second handle having a magnet. The magnet of the second handle is configured to magnetically secure a metal nail plate to allow a user to position the nail plate in a desired location on a wood member to be striked by the engaging head of the first handle. After the nail plate is secured to the wood member the magnet is removed from the nail plate and the process is repeated with the next nail plate. When not in use, the second handle may be secured within the first handle.
