Method and apparatus for covering a fastener system

A method and apparatus for covering a fastener system. In one illustrative embodiment, an apparatus comprises a cover. The cover is configured to be placed over a fastener system at a surface of an object in which the fastener system is installed. The cover is comprised of a number of composite materials selected such that the cover is configured to reduce an effect of an electrical discharge, which occurs around the fastener system, on an environment outside the cover.

LED screen comprising spring retainers for LED modules

Embodiments relate to a light emitting diode (LED) screen that includes a mounting frame; a plurality of LED modules arranged at said mounting frame, said LED modules comprises a plurality of LED pixels arranged in an array, and a plurality of retention systems configured to securing at least one of said LED module to said mounting frame. At least one of said retention systems comprises a male part, a female part adapted to receive said male part and a retention spring, said retention spring is movable between a retaining position and a non-retaining position, where, in said retaining position, said retention spring is configured to engage said male part and to provide a retaining force to said male part, said retaining force presses said mounting frame and said LED module together.

An energy absorbing rotatable fastener to attach curtain air bags to a vehicle body includes a metal clip with a rectangular central aperture and inward flanges on opposing sides of the aperture. A molded pin includes a manipulation portion and an energy absorption portion supported on the clip with a biasing element urging the pin outward. The pin and clip connect an air bag tab and body plate and the pin is rotatable in an arc of 45 to place the energy absorption portion in an energy absorbing position between the tab and body plate. The pin and clip each provide energy absorption on air bag deployment. In one form, the manipulation portion of the pin includes a drive cap that provides ninety degrees (90) of lost motion.

A fastener is disclosed for use in a display structure that includes a bracket defining a detent, a pin that is rotatably received by the bracket, and a latch, e.g., a helical spring, that is in engagement with the pin such that rotation of the pin causes corresponding rotation of the latch. The latch is configured, dimensioned, and positioned for engagement with the detent during movement of the fastener between first (unlocked) and second (locked) positions. During movement of the fastener between the first and second positions, the latch traverses the detent to provide a perceptible indication, e.g., an audible and/or tactile indication, that the fastener has been moved between the first and second positions.
