An aircraft wing comprises a fixed wing, and a wing tip device at the tip thereof. The wing tip device is configurable between (i) a flight configuration for use during flight, and (ii) a ground configuration for use during ground based operations. In the ground configuration with span of the wing is reduced. The wing further comprises a locking mechanism including a locking pin with a longitudinal axis, the locking pin associated with one of the fixed wing and the wing tip device, and a bush associated with the other of the fixed wing and wing tip device, the bush configured to receive the locking pin. The bush is located within a bush housing arranged to allow relative movement of the bush in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the locking pin when the locking pin is received within the bush.

Shaft locking method using a gear rack and toothed locking lever

A shaft locking mechanism includes a rack disposed on a translating shaft and a toothed locking lever disposed on a corresponding translation post. The toothed locking lever engages the rack in a locked orientation to prevent the shaft translating within the translation post. The toothed locking lever is disengaged during translation and the shaft may be translated and locked in place with very granular adjustability. A control rod release mechanism may be biased to maintain the toothed locking lever in the locked orientation. A cam feature on the toothed locking lever engages the body of the control rod which defines a recessed portion that coincides with the cam while in an unlocked orientation.

Fastening device

The present disclosure illustrates a fastening device. In the fastening device, a sleeve is formed with a through-hole which defines a rotation space, a position-limiting ring is formed on the sleeve and includes a first position-limiting fastening groove and two second position-limiting fastening grooves; a fastening member is formed on a bottom surface of a rod head of a rotary knob device dispose outside the sleeve; a long protrusion rod and two short protrusion rods are formed in the sliding inner hole of the assembly space and respectively aligned with the first position-limiting fastening groove and the two second position-limiting fastening grooves. During locking operation, the drive cap can be bi-directionally rotated; and during unlocking operation, the drive cap can only be unidirectionally rotate, thereby achieving the purpose of easily recognize the locked or unlocked state according to different hand feeling in operation.

Fastener

A fastener for fastening parts together. The fastener has a shaft, a head and movable members that spring outwardly from the shaft to firmly capture the parts between the members and the head upon insertion of the fastener into aligned holes in the parts. No threading step is necessary. The movable members may be retractable into the shaft to facilitate insertion into holes corresponding in size to the shaft. The members may have a contact surface sloping away from the head and forming a tapered space between the members and the head so that the outward spring bias tends to reduce the space and maintain tightness of the joint. The fastener may be operatively deployed by a single insertion step.

Brake screw for surgical lighting systems

A brake screw for use with a surgical lighting system. The brake screw includes a screw member retained within a threaded aperture of a mounting hub of a spindle of an arm used with the lighting system. The screw member is rotationally adjusted to enable displacement in an axial direction. A brake member is in axial alignment with the screw member and disposed for movement in the axial direction against a mounting tube retained within the mounting hub upon rotational adjustment of the screw member. A rivet section is integrally formed with the brake member and has a distal end retained within an axial recess formed within the screw member, allowing movement of the brake member in the axial direction within the screw member. A bias member is disposed between the screw member and the brake member to create a biasing force that urges apart the screw member and the brake member along the axial direction.

Part fastening structure and mounting tool

A part fastening structure fastens a part, using a bolt and a nut. The bolt includes a first spiral groove, a second spiral groove provided on a tip end side of the bolt with respect to the first spiral groove, a slit extending from a tip end of the bolt to the first spiral groove through the second spiral groove, and a loosening suppression groove extending from another end of the second spiral groove to the tip end side. The nut includes: a first nut member including a first pin protruding toward a central axis side and inserted into the first spiral groove; a second nut member including a second pin protruding toward the central axis side and inserted into the second spiral groove; and an urging member disposed between the first and second nut members and that urges the first nut member toward a head portion of the bolt.
