Wood screw
A wood screw that includes a head and a shank is revealed. The shank is formed by a main shank portion and a tapered portion whose diameter is smaller than that of the main shank portion, both provided with a locking thread. A plurality of drilling units, whose outside diameter of the drilling unit is smaller than that of the locking thread, is disposed on the tapered portion. The drilling units first destroy workpiece material corresponding to the main shank portion so that the workpiece material becomes loose and the resistance of the locking thread of the main shank portion is reduced. Thereby the wood screw is screwed into the workpiece more smoothly. Moreover, an internal thread segment whose thread depth matches that of the locking thread of the main shank portion is formed so that the wood screw and the workpiece are fastened more firmly.

BLUNT TIP BONE SCREW
In one embodiment, a bone screw includes a shaft having a proximal shaft end and a distal shaft end spaced from the proximal shaft end in a distal direction along a central axis. The shaft is helically threaded between the proximal and distal shaft ends. A tip extends from the distal shaft end in the distal direction, and defines a plurality of lands with cutting flutes disposed between adjacent lands. Each land has a bore-cutting edge that extends from an inner cutting edge end to an outer cutting edge end. The inner cutting edge end is disposed at a center of the distal end of the tip, and the outer cutting edge end is spaced from the center of the distal end of the tip. The bore-cutting edges may blunt the feel of the tip so as to reduce the likelihood of soft-tissue damage.
Method for Temporarily Releasing Screw Anchorage
A method for temporarily releasing a screw anchorage includes unscrewing and removing a primary screw having a thread that is tappingly engaged in a mating thread in an ungrouted hole in a mineral substrate from the ungrouted hole. Subsequently to the unscrewing and removing, a retrofitting screw is screwed into the hole to form an annular gap between the retrofitting screw and the mineral substrate. A hardenable grout is placed in the annular gap and the hardenable grout is hardened in the annular gap.
FASTENING COMPONENT, ASSEMBLY METHOD AND ASSEMBLY DEVICE
This fastening component, which is intended to assemble a first part and a second part, includes a body extending longitudinally along an axis, a head configured to allow the fastening component to be rotated about the axis, and a tip connected to the body. The body has a side wall including fastening means configured to fasten the body to the first and second parts. The tip has a side wall having a shape different from that of a surface of revolution. The tip and the body are connected by a cleavable area configured to be broken in order to detach the tip from the body.
Method for Rating a Screw which is Purportedly Embedded in Grout
A method for rating a screw which is disposed in a hole in a concrete or masonry substrate includes applying a screw torque to the screw, measuring motion data of the screw in response to the applied screw torque, and rating the screw as either satisfactory or unsatisfactory on a basis of the measured motion data.
ELECTRIC MOTOR AND PUMP COMRISING SUCH AN ELECTRIC MOTOR
An electric motor, in particular for an oil pump, comprising a rotor and a stator, wherein the stator has through-openings, which are continuous in the axial direction, for screw elements, and comprising a functional support, which is arranged on an end face with respect to the axial direction of the stator and which has a contoured contact section for the stator and screw receiving areas for the screw elements. The screw receiving areas protrude out of the contoured contact section for the stator in the axial direction, and the screw receiving areas are received in the through-openings.
Screw For Cutting A Thread
The invention relates to a screw for cutting a thread into a component, having a shank which at least in portions is provided with a thread, a screw head having a drive configuration, the latter being adjoined by the shank, wherein, proceeding from an end of the shank that is opposite the head, first a cutting portion and then a holding portion are disposed, wherein the cutting portion and the holding portion are provided with a thread, wherein the holding portion has a larger external diameter in relation to the cutting portion, characterized in that a truncated-cone-type intermediate portion that is provided with a thread is disposed between the holding portion and the cutting portion, and in that the cutting portion has a truncated-cone-type attachment portion.

MULTI-FEATURED PANEL FASTENER AND PANEL SYSTEM INCLUDING THE MULTI-FEATURED PANEL FASTENER
A panel fastener is provided that has a head having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface; an engagement feature on the first surface of the head, the engagement feature being configured to be engaged by a driving tool; a shank extending from the second surface of the head; a threaded portion extending from the shank, the threaded portion having first and second helical threads arranged in an intertwined manner; the first thread extending farther radially from the central axis than does the second thread; and the shank being located between the head and the threaded portion.
